Robert De Niro and Al Pacino junkies take heart, the men who have uttered some of the most memorable lines in modern cinema are to be fêted by Starz and Encore channels in June.
On Saturday, June 6, two bad boys of New York can be seen on Encore and Starz. Al Pacino and Robert De Niro will be featured in an all-day marathon on Encore that will lead up to the 9:00 p.m. Starz premiere of the action thriller Righteous Kill, their latest collaboration.
The day begins at 7:00 a.m. on Encore:
Awakenings (7:00 a.m.) – Robert De Niro, Robin Williams, Penelope Ann Miller
Midnight Run (9:10 a.m.) – Robert De Niro, Charles Grodin, Yaphet Kotto, Joe Pantoliano
Cape Fear (11:20 a.m.) – Robert De Niro, Nick Nolte, Jessica Lange
Dog Day Afternoon (1:30 p.m.) – Al Pacino, John Cazale, Charles Durning
Backdraft (3:40 p.m.) – Robert De Niro, Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh
Scarface (6:00 p.m.) – Al Pacino, Steven Bauer, Michelle Pfeiffer
The evening shifts to Starz at 9:00 p.m. with the premiere of Righteous Kill.
Two veteran New York City detectives (Pacino/De Niro) work to identify the possible connection between a recent murder and a case they believe they solved years ago. Is there a serial killer on the loose, and did they perhaps put the wrong person behind bars? Costarring 50 Cent, Carla Gugino and Donnie Wahlberg.
