Post "American Idol" finale sees the winner, Kris Allen, and the runner-up, Adam Lambert, on whirlwind mega press tours talking up their experiences, as the two come off the high of the "Idol" selection process and begin to shape a real music career after the smallscreen competition.
Lambert especially has been bombarded with press requests to talk about his near victory and his thoughts about what swayed the public voting. Lambert enjoyed the endorsement of pop star Katy Perry, who created a lot of controversy when she had his name jeweled onto the back of her cape when she performed on "Idol."
Adam told MTV that he was "shocked" by her endorsement, and "honored."

Lambert said, "I had a huge smile on my face the minute I saw it. I wasn't prepared for that. I didn't know she was going to do that, so you can imagine my surprise."
Even the subject of his sexuality was broached in the MTV interview, and Lambert conceded that it "probably" did have an effect on the voting.
Lambert's own mother Leila was asked about her son's ascent into pop stardom.
She told website momlogic.com that her wunderkind son was a prodigy from the age of three. "I would say as early as three years old when I realized Adam could recite books in verbatim and could make character voices even before he could read. He loved Halloween and taking on different characters," shared his mother. "Then, I started putting him in theater groups. He thrived and loved the interaction with the other kids. At age 10, Adam sang for the first time. We knew there was something very unique for such a young boy to sing the notes he was reaching, so he began taking lessons."
Kris Allen's mom was asked the same question, and Kim noted too that it was an early age that revealed the gift her son possessed. Kim told momlogic.com, "Even at an early age Kris had a beautiful tone to his voice. My husband and other son sing as well. But knowing there was something extraordinary about his talent- it came after he went to Spain on a mission trip after his second semester of college. When Kris came home he wasn't well and he was in bed. He seemed to acquire a gift for writing music. We heard the songs, the messages in his music, and we realized he wasn't just some kid who could sing -- he truly has a gift."
Kim also revealed that when Kris first auditioned, she had no idea where the path would take him. "I think Kris' thought process was amazing 'American Idol' contestants still made it big, even if they didn't win like Chris Daughtry and Jennifer Hudson. He thought, 'If I could just get exposure.' We never focused on him winning. We wanted him to get to a point where someone would just notice him and then everything would be great. As he got further into it, we looked for the win. He's a good-looking kid, he's wholesome, with no skeletons in his closet. This is a good arena for him because he's a positive influence on young kids. He's an inspiration for anyone."

wow, what a mean comment.
Are you a Republican?
Kerry Kolsch - get a grip. To deny Kris the legitimate win here - and the fact that his musical talent is indisputable MASS APPEALING and legitimate is silly and strange of you. All because you just cannot accept defeat in this contest.
Kris does not deserve the words you venomously spew. Neither does Adam. I imagine Adam never asked you to contribute that strange comment with the world. Kris and Adam appear to be human beings above your ugly vitriol. Get over yourself and be happy - for both of them.
Congrats Kris. You deserve it. Be happy.
Wow, so much hatred over a singing competition! Just another example of what is wrong in today's world!
To Kerry Kolsch -
Why are you blaming Kris and his fans for Adam losing? How many times did you vote? Did you organize a voting party to help Adam win? Probably not or else you wouldn't be this bitter because Adam's fans weren't smart enough to think of it first. It's not cheating when it's perfectly legal for you to do mass voting for any particular Idol contestant you want to win.
This is a competition! It's a game! If Adam's fans had put in the same effort that Kris's fans did in getting him the title, you would be singing a different tune.
Kris deserves respect in the music industry because he earned it. He didn't get screen time. He didn't get 'pimped' by the show. He didn't get any special favors or treatments. He earned the title the hard way -- he worked for it. Week by week. Sure, Adam was brilliant every week but he stayed at that level where Kris showed improvement and that's what the public likes to see. GROWTH. And it's not like he's NOT TALENTED. If anything, he showed more musical creativity than Adam did when it came to arranging his songs.
As the saying goes, it's not how you start, it's how you FINISH.
Go Kris! Congratulations on being the new American Idol!!!
I don't know about poll stacking as we never saw much of the rivalry in Australia but I do think that it is strange that a guy who could deliver amazing songs week after week (Adam) was at the last moment pipped at the post by a guy we hardly heard about the whole show. Was this rigged from the beginning or the end ? I don't know, I just know that if Adam had sung in Australia he would have and rightly should have won...Hope he blasts everyone away with his career...and I am a 50 year old, Christian mother of 4 who condems anyone that didn't vote for him because of the way he lives his life...it was a singing talent show not a lets tear someone down show....Go Adam you rocked and I'm sure you'll keep on rocking
I love Adam Lambert and thought he would take the crown. I also like Kris Allen but never thought he had a chance to win the competition. I was very surprised that Kris won. Do I think there is a conspiracy or that people just did not want Adam to win due to his sexual orientation? I really don't think so. Paula Abdul was right when she said that there is a Danny Gokey factor that needs to be considered. Fans who voted for Danny probably switched their votes to Kris as he mirrored Danny's performance and personality in a lot of ways. That's human nature -- to go for what you're comfortable with. People seem to think that the conservatives got together and decided they want Kris to win -- I mean, who has the time or energy for that. Watching both of these guys on stage makes me really glad that they were the last two standing. Both were gracious, classy and shared a mutual respect for each other and friendship that will surely last.
Kris Allen showed he is a gracious winner -- acknowledging Adam's talent during his interviews, and Adam is very classy in his defeat. Both of these young men have been raised well and it shows. We should just be proud of them and show our support for their career when their albums come out. Best of luck to you guys.
If we can get worked up about a reality show meant to sell you something (come to think of it, AI is really an infomercial), what more of important things like poverty, world hunger, global warming, etc? Oh wait! The same people who b*tch and moan that about their horse not winning an inconsequential reality show (because they don't care enough to support their idol), are the same self-entitled people who think that the world owes them a favor. So never mind.
Everyone knows that Kris did not deserve to win. It is not 'mean' to say the truth. What was ruthless was what happened in Arkansas. It was not just Adam that was hurt, but all of his fans, like my eighty year old grandmother who learned to text so she could vote for Adam. She only voted once because she thought it was the right thing to do. In the end Kris becomes the loser, the joke, that has far less talent then Adam. If his mother thinks he can sing, she is his mother, everyone else needs ear training.
Wow, bitter much Kerry? Adam deserved this as much as Kris. Both are equally talented and in a different way. Kris was under-rated all through out the show, he has superb talent and had superb performances which were not overly praised by the judges and were not emphasized by the producers. This is his nature, he is laid-back and mellow and it is part of his charm. This is a part of him that people really loved and related too. So please stop hating, the real work is just beginning, I sure do hope both Kris and Adam will deliver good music to all of us to enjoy!
Let's remember the gracious spirits of Kris and Adam. They are both gifted with amazing talent and represent very different styles and tastes in music. Americans voted for the artist who performed the kind of music they would listen to. Kris's fans love his amazing style and sound and in this competition it was what a larger portion of the American Idol audience related too. That Kris won doesn't take away from Adam's talent, so please honor Adam's graciousness by accepting the results as he did when he said that they are both winners.
I have never posted on anything like this, I just can't take it any longer.
I don't understand why Kris is being accused all over the internet of 'stealing the victory' from Adam. Give us a break, people!
Kris auditioned the same way that Adam did.
They both made it into the top 13.
They both showed up each week and sang their song.
They both waited to hear the results of the VOTING.
They both made it to the final.
They both showed up at the final.
They both sang their songs.
They both waited to hear the results of the final VOTING.
Kris got more votes.
Kris 'won' the title.
Simple as that.
He didn't 'steal' anything. His supports voted more than Adam's. No one can accuse him of stealing anything. That's just ridiculous. If you don't like how it turned out, fine. Don't blame Kris. You should have voted more. Blame your constituency.
Congratulations to both men on a job well done.
I am very glad they both showed up each week!
Congratulations, Kris, on your victory.
I hope that both men are very succesful!
They both deserve it!
Devin-
Apparently more people disagree with you than agree with you. That's why Kris won. Glad your Grandma learned to text and voted, though...it's a nice story.
Kerry, you need to get a life, you sound scary.
Cheers to Lorraine Varley and Kerry Kolsch! I feel that Adam was so unfairly scrutinized by the media and the public and this possibly cost him the well deserved title of American Idol. Sure he's 'different' but that shouldn't take away from his amazing talent. The judges praised him week after week because of his talent and his ability to entertain. They saw in him something they never saw before in any contestant. Past American Idols (with the exception of Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson) have never made it big in the music industry. I myself was tired of all the the good but average singers that could never go beyond the show. Adam was clearly in a league of his own and it was so refreshing to finally see a brilliant and talented singer like him. He upped the ante for American Idol and gave the show some credibility. I know Adam will find success beyond the show and I wish him well. In defeat Adam showed so much grace and humility which made me love him all the more. Adam is truly a class act!
Oh for petes sake Kerry, calm down, your going to give yourself a coronary! Is this really the most important thing in your life?
How pathetic.
Puhleeeze. That commentary on Kris Allen manipulating his Idol win is
twisted, sour grape, desperate and silly. I've expressed this to anyone who would listen during all the weeks of the competition that it is no secret Adam Lambert is talented. But here's the problem. Idol is for the up and coming not for the already there. Adam will make it no matter what genre he chooses. His competing with the likes of the raw talent on this show was comparable to 'The Rock' staging a wrestling match with Pee Wee Herman. It was unmatched. This guy has years of theatrical experience--he didn't need Idol. Idol needed him. The show was becoming boring. You could see the desperation in it as they tried a fourth judge, the save, etc. Alhough I would not go so far as to say they 'pimped' Adam, I will say he was used, groomed and favored. To put Kris Allen in the category of a manipulative conspirator, feigning sweet innocence in order to win, is so far fetched it makes me laugh outloud. Here's the kicker, the 100 million who voted saw through all of that over theatrical b.s. and they did the right thing. Yes America--there is goodness still out there! I voted for Kris every time. As I have said it before, I'll say it again, Kris didn't have to squeal like a pig and dress like Elvis to get his point across. Kris Allen won--by the people's choice - nor did he win by voters playing 'Simon Says.' Kris Allen is awesome and he is truly the winner. Now Get over it!
Kerry and Devin- Where do you guys get off? GET OVER IT!!! I'm sure that as gracious as Adam is, he would be appauled that his fans are ripping on his friend, Kris(they ARE friends, Adam said it himself). Why must the fact that Kris is a Christian come into this? Why? For what purpose are all you 'haters' trying to bring Kris down? He didn't steal anything. The fact of the matter is that there are more people who liked Kris. Period. End of story. If we, as Christians are to be TOLERANT of your beliefs that are different from ours, why can you not show us the same respect?
Angie---
VERY WELL SAID! AWESOME, GIRL!!!!
I agree with Kerry Kolsch. After reading Kris' mom comments that his son doesn't have skeleton in his closet, that makes him entitled as the winner? I feel very sad for these votes that are based on prejudice and jealousy. We all know that in a singing competition, the best singer should win. Why do they have to SING every week if it is not based on that? They should have made a preach about living a healthy life, instead.
I am a lawyer, not one that just worries about getting paid, but one who believes in justice. I defended Adam on line when some hack writer claimed that he had disrespected that National Anthem. I took him on and took the position that political satire is the most highly protected form of speech under the First Amendment. Adam’s fans shut down the dispute and it never became an issue. The one thing I know is that now that the world has seen and heard Adam, he does not need the American Idol win. I would not post what I wrote to be mean, but I hang out with “mad scientist” as I call them. I work with physicist and mathematicians and I can tell you, they can analyze data and they can hack anything. Not wanting the Feds knocking at their door I will say no more about that. But I know, had it not been for the over voting of the people in Arkansas Adam would have won. Philosophically I believe that it is wrong to take what you do not deserve, even if it is just because you can. There is something moral about putting every bit of your soul into going for the win and winning because you are the best. Kris was not the best, look what you have done to him. He will have to live with that.
The introduction of musical instruments into AI made the competition more than a vocal competition; it made it a competition for well rounded musicians. Kris could sing, perhaps not as well as Adam; but he was also talented on the guitar and piano. His last few performances reflected soulfulness and honesty, while he skillfully switched between guitar and piano. His father's support was also truly moving. There was a general sense that this guy is the real deal. Not an actor; he didn't need glam or hype. He was just himself. And America voted. Even without the 'fixes' people claim happened in Arkansas, I think Kris would have won, or come damn near.
Good Lord! You must really hate yourself!! Congratulations Kris and Adam. Nothing ever happens without reason. Both are winners. I thoroughly enjoyed watching both performers. Both so different and yet...... Isn't that what life is all about?? Get over yourself. This is a spiritual Truth : what you put into the universe, the exact same will come back to you. I would be a little careful about spewing out so much of hatred. Find love in your heart to embrace everyone without judgement. Good luck.
For people to be upset that Adam was favored is foolish or ignorant. If you were a judge, wouldn't you be excited to come across someone with his talent, especially after all these years of average singers. The judges are there to pick someone to be the American Idol and they saw in Adam something they never saw before, talent. If we blame Adam for being unfair because of his stage experience then what about Kris being in a band?? Or David Cook releasing an album prior to auditioning for American Idol, but we say nothing about that. The other contestants may not have been fortunate enough to have had parents that enrolled them in theater but we blame Adam for this and criticize him for his gift of being theatrical as well. Adam knew how to put on a show and if we play back this season, we clearly see who the entertainer was. Listen to his songs on iTunes, we can't play the 'too theatrical' card on that now can we??? Going forward I hope American Idol picks people like Adam that are gifted so that there is hope for us to enjoy the American Idol for years to come and not see them die out after a year or two of being crowned. Adam is pure talent that stayed true to himself throughout the whole competition. Even though he didn't walk away with the title, we all know he deserved it.
Kris may have been crowned the American Idol. But the rest of the world, would like Adam to win. Adam is an international star.
Kerry-
So, you're a lawyer, and you work with physicists and mathematicians...how exactly does this qualify you to make musical assessments?
Obviously, the majority of voters disagreed with your opinion that Adam was better, myself included. Also, Kris's mother did not say that that his having no skeletons in his closet qualified him to win...she was simply extolling her son's obvious virtues.
As for the philosophical issues...Winning American Idol is about garnering the largest number of votes. Period. The current system of voting allows individuals to vote as many times as they like within the given time frame. I voted 1,200 times for Kris. Did you do the same for Adam? If you did, then you have every right to be disappointed. If you didn't (which I suspect) then you have no one to blame but yourself for Adam's loss. Don't blame the voters in the State of Arkansas for supporting their own. California didn't do the same for Adam Lambert because Californians don't care about celebrities.
I'm sorry, but if you (and Adam's other rabid and disgruntled fans) wanted him to win American Idol, you needed to be more organized, contact friends, get together and vote for four hours like Kris Allen's fans did. No whining now when you had every opportunity to change the outcome of the contest last Tuesday night.
Also, If you don't like the current system of voting on Idol, then write the producers of the show, but don't blame Kris Allen for winning Idol following the existing rules. And yes, the best man did win.
I think Angie's commnent is the most fair one I have seen in some of the forums. I am also sick of those agreesive comments on Kris. I don't think the competition's outcome was Kris' or Kris'fan fault. This is the competition system. The show is not just based on talented but also popularity. If the show was only judged by the judges, it's so obvious that they will pick adam as they always want someone special to be in the industry. While I am listening to Kris, it always remind me of Jason Maraz, Jack Johnson these type of artists. They are very common and popular in this industry and that's the reason of Kris' victory.I am actually an Adam's fan not Kris', I only feel dissapointed just because Adam couldn't get the thing this time that he goes for. BUt for me he didn't lose, he still has a lot of supporters. And this show doesn't have a loser, as both of them has gone for a long way to get where they are now.
Kerry-
One more thing (regarding your original-and bordering on disturbing-post):
Adam's fans were armed with the exact same arsenal of voting methods (all accepted as valid by American Idol):
1. Dial Idol (computerized dialing): Yep, the majority of Dial Idol votes were from Adam fans.
2. Gizmo5 (allows you to vote in other time zones.) Was used by Adam's fans, too.
3. Power Texting (texting 10 or more votes at a time) You guessed it, used by everyone.
Once again, all these options were available to YOU as well. Too bad you didn't use them...it might have turned out differently for your guy.
Kris won this contest by appealing to the largest demographic and garnering the largest and most dedicated fan base. So, like the other posters said, get over it already!
Kris won, Adam got 2nd place. The end.
The ladies voted for Kris. People who like rock and a theatrical show voted for Adam and people who liked Kris's smoother, folksy musician style voted for Kris. I like both but when I listened to both on iTunes Kris really was good. Without the showmanship Adam was not as good. I actually switched from Adam to Kris after listening to the songs on iTunes. I still like and admire Adams' talent. They both are very talented. Adam was fawned over some the entire show and the others were not. Never seen this before. That may have backfired. Also most people do noy pay attention to the junk about the contestants online or in the media. As to the voting issue...a newscast and an interview I watched made it clear that the voting issue was not true but was actually false information. No one I know in Arkansas even knew about the voting thing. Voting as many times as you like has always been allowed and is the norm. American Idol tells you that when you text your vote. Conspiracies? Religion? What craziness! Do you know how small Conway Arkansas and the churches there are? No way Arkansas did the most voting. Regardless this is a music contest and it is fun. Both were deserving of a win. Both are talented in different ways. Rockers thought Adam rocked and others loved Kris's music. Someone had to win. But both deserved it and both are great! Good Luck to both Kris and Adam! And no I am not from Arkanas.
I wish the first post by Kerry Kolsch would be removed, and maybe a few from others as well. Reading it literally made me sick to my stomach. Our freedom of speech does not give us the right to spread hatred.
I don't understand from where all this 'Kris didn't deserve to win' and 'he stole the crown away from Adam' is coming. Was anybody paying attention to the entire season? Kris and Adam were both only in the bottom three one week, the same week. Adam is the one that was in the bottom two. Clearly, this was not as much of a come behind victory as everyone is making it out to be. It seems as though Kris has been getting votes the entire season.
I truly wish that everyone would let the guys enjoy THEIR victory! Since when is coming in second considered losing? I feel really sorry for those that grew up with parents who considered them a loser for coming in second place. I'm sure Adam's parents are proud of him, and that he is proud of himself. Instead of hating on Kris, why don't Adam fas spread the love of Adam, just as the guys do for each other.
The sad part is that the people sharing comments such as Kerry's are just hurting Adam. I am a fan of Kris and Adam. My sister is a fan of Adam and Kris. We will buy both of their albums and see both in concert, and we can't wait. The more I read the bashing of Kris, the more it makes me want to support Adam less, but I won't do that because his talent should not be affected by the ignorance of his fans.
I totally love Kris and Adam. As an artist Kris will do great things and Adam as a singer will really be famous but i think it really doesn't matter now who won. What do you Adam fans really want for Adam? And what do you Kris fans want for Kris' future? Everything's up to us now. I love Kris and will surely show my support by buying his albums. Kris and Adam has fans and will have fans all over the world. This is just the beginning of their career. If their friendship is genuine as they claim it to be, then Kris' success should be Adam's joy and vice versa.
As the mother of a 19 year gifted classically trained musician / composer who is attending New World School of the Arts in Miami, (sometimes in nail polish), I have a home filled with amazingly talented young artist, dancers, actors, vocalist, (including opera) photographers and multi medium performers. This art school is not for hobbyist, but it is training professionals. A high level of talent is required to be admitted. My own son, almost since he was born, has had his whole life revolve around music. When he has been in a competition and outshone everyone else it is not something you can dispute it is obvious. From the beginning it was obvious that Adam was the most talented performer. As the show progressed it was obvious that Adam is a world-class entertainer, the stuff that legends are made of. No one needs to count the votes. I see talent every day; you cannot compare Kris to Adam. His voice is not trained, his range is ordinary, and he did butcher What's Going On, in the final. Judging by the vitriol response from some of you toward Kerry, you need to get a grip, when you try to say that Kris can sing as good as Adam you have lost touch with reality. Adam gets the Glory and Kris gets to be known as the mistake. Live with it.
We here in South Africa never doubted that Adam was the true star. We still think he is. Show after show he delivered. We are looking forward to see where he goes from here. We salute you Adam!
The AI results have been analyzed to death. Kris got more votes than Adam - period!!! Like someone said, probably Danny's votes went to Kris. They are both winners and talented. Kris is certainly not a mistake just because someone prefers Adam's kind of music. Enjoy AI for the entertainment value and not to end up with so much hate for one or the other. This is a tv show, folks, put it into perspective and enjoy or don't watch. Also seems like lawyer gal ended up on the hate side. I still feel like winning or losing, this show gives great exposure to talented people who might not otherwise get it - can we say Daughtry and Jennifer Hudson!!!! In the long run, it's the buying public who will determine the success of these people in the entertainment world.
I agree with Aman. I am all for Freedom of Speech, but Kerry's post is filled with such venoumous rage that it is frightening. It is disturbing that a reality television show could incite such hatred. Neither of the finalists or their parents have done anything to Kerry to warrant her/his hateful words. I hope that the Allens (and the Lamberts for that matter) never read the filth that was allowed to be posted on this site. Shame on you!
For those of you that describe my post as hateful, for those of you who want it taken down, to Kris’s mom suggesting that Adam has “skeletons” in the closet, it is your thoughts that are coming from a mean and nasty place in our society. The place that causes young teens that are different to commit suicide at an ever-growing rate. The place that loves mediocrity, white bread and vanilla ice cream, where the homogeny is so overwhelming boring that it makes you want to scream. A place that can’t allow free expression and promotes bigotry. It is a societal flaw that people are so ingrained into conformity that they cannot respond to excellence. There is no contest between Adam Lambert and the rest of them. His vocals are not comparable to theirs. Every aspect of his performances has excelled the others by light years. Adam has brought to us a voice that has taken years of dedication to perfect. When he sings he is not just robotically percisioned to hit each note perfectly, but also to emotionally transport us to a place and time when we can embrace the feeling the song inspires. If you think that you can give Kris the most votes and the society will think he has talent you are mistaken. It doe not matter that Kris “won” because the world will judge his credibility. The nerve I struck with you is that I called you on your s---.
Kris is very appealing and he sings good. I am sure he will have a popular record for his fans, which I think are pretty much, not all of course, tween girls. If I was 12 I would vote for Kris, too. As an older and wiser woman, I flipped over Adam. I usually don't watch Idol but my family does and when I saw Adam doing 'Satisfaction' that first week, I was hooked. I couldn't wait for Tuesday to come each week. Adam's performances only got better. He is so versatile, too, and he CAN sing anything. Going from the heartbreaking BETH on results night to rocking with KISS and then ending with QUEEN. WE are in the presensce of greatness!!!
I was lucky enough to see Elvis in person before he died and the excitement of watching him perform is the same way I felt watching Adam each week. C'mon, people, we have been blessed with the newest super star of the 21st century! I am starting to save now so I am able to afford a ticket to his concert someday.
The filth came from Kris's mom when she said that Adam had 'skeleton's in the closet'. What closet are you talking about? Adam is an honest guy that should be able to live the life he chooses. Do you learn all this hate in church?
Ah but Kerry, it is you who is filled with bigotry and hatred. You make the assumption, I presume, that 'skeletons in his closet = 'not gay''. For someone as well-educated as you claim to be, should we all robotically agree with you that Adam is greatest singer since Elvis? I respectfully disagree, although I recognize his extraordinary gift. It was Kris Allen whose music connected with me emotionally. That doesn't make me a bigot. I don't need you to call me out. It is MY preference and I'm entitled to it. Your words ARE hate-filled. You don't have to agree with my taste in music, but you don't need to tear others down to state your opinion.
It seems an awful lot of people there have confused dissappointment with hate. You are dissappointed that Adam didn't win. I get that, but it doesn't make Kris a bad person. It means that the majority of voters felt his music spoke to them in a way that Adams didn't. Different strokes for different folks.
It sounds like lawyer??? Kerry is saying her/his opinion is the only correct one, and I don't know many lawyers who spends so much time on a site like this and critiquing shows like AI. Regardless, the hate she/he and the mother of the music genuses projects is immature at best. Kris is on the same page as singers like Robin Thicke (although I think he can sing better than Robin) Michael Bublae (sp), etc., and they have a big audience. Adam is great, and appeals to people who like his style of music. We aren't all alike in our likes and dislikes - thank god -different strokes for different folks. And, as always, people who are in the media spotlight - be it the entertainers or their family, need to think twice before they speak.
I totally agree with Kerry. The talent Adam has to reach and
connect with us along with his incredible voice-he was so far
above all the other contestants. Sometimes he made me cry,
sometimes he gave me goosebumps and sometimes he made me want
to jump and dance. Someone else said Adam's fans could have used
all the computerized programs and all the various cheating
methods to win as well- isn't that why our economy is tanking
because everyone decided to play the system. Along with several
friends, I voted for the entire 4 hours but rarely got through-
I did use my phone and cell phone. Right now we all feel like
fools sitting with our little phones dialing like monkeys while
computerized programs determined the outcome. I will always be
a fan of Adam. I will have every cd and do what ever it takes
to be at his concert. Yes he was unfairly denied his title. I
will never let AI play me again. Those massive computer votes
should not be counted.Simon should leave now because the
entire AI looks ridiculus to the world.
Conway, you can like Kris better it does not mean that he is, it just means that you have poor taste. He is as boring as watching paint dry. I do not get how anything Kerry said amounted to bigotry, while what Kris's mother said is over the top bigotry. The music industry knows who to embrace, did you see Kiss or Queen wanting to sing with with Kris? He looked like a joke next to Keith Urban. I travel all over the world and people have embraced Adam. Your white bread Arkansas boy will not be remembered along with the majority of idol contestants, while Adam will be a world wide superstar. You may have stolen the vote, but not the hearts and minds of people who love great music.
When I heard Adam sing that Sam Cook song I did cry. What a beautiful man and what a beautiful voice! Adam was robbed on voting night, but thank God he will not have to be judged by the people making the ignorant comments posted here. Google Trends still shows the interest in Adam way above Kris. Our money will prove who the real Idol is.
Wow - these contestants are probably all very nice people trying to follow their dream and don't deserve the nasty remarks - for shame!
Some of you people need to put all that hateful energy into good use and get behind a cause. Just because you don't agree with something doesn't mean you have to spew out such garbage. AI was a contest - not just weeks of an 'Adam' show. I happen to think Danny was a better singer than Kris, but that's my opinion, and I respect others. As nice a person as Adam seems, he probably hates all those negative/nasty comments directed at Kris and would hope his fans had better class.
Wow. Such bitterness. Why is it that just because Kris Allen won American Idol and Adam Lambert got second place, some feel the need to rip Kris apart? You are all acting like there was some subversive plot to make Adam Lambert look bad. He still looks good sweeties. When Kris' mom said Kris had no skeletons in his closet, that was not to imply Adam does. What's up with you people? Wah wah wah, I have never heard so many sore losers in my entire life! Maybe you Lambert fans can call on the Supereme Court to over rule the decision. That's what you do best. (And maybe that lawyer guy who knows a lot of mathemeticians can help.) I can't wait to buy Kris' albums and you know what, I might even buy Adam's. It's my choice. America voted--remember? This is how democracy works. The majority liked Kris - for WHATEVER THEIR OWN PERSONAL REASONS. Dry your eyes. It is time now people, to return to your little lives and get a hobby.
The last two comments were right on!! Listen up everyone and mind your manners!
Kris won the idol yes; but in all reality Adam also won. He and Kris are friends and I truely beleave that Adam will have a great recording contract from being on the show. Both Kris and Adam have great talents and no one should belittle Kris for winning. I myself and my oldest daughter did not vote; we like alot of other people thought Adam had it in the bag; But as it stands i liked both young people and wanted to see who would win without me voting. Again I think both Kris and Adam are Winners.
OMG please stop! Can someone please tell me what this stuff about Adams sexuality is about? My daughter told me some but i had never heard anything about it until now. So i dont think that played a part in the show.Like people are saying if you did not vote for who you wanted to win then you realy cant complain your person didnt win. Like i said before Both young men are very talented and both deserve to win..
They both like each other and wanted each other to win so if they can get along and be happy for each other so should you
Very well said Shari and Christine; Both of the young men have talent and both Kris and Adam would be very upset that there fans are bashing the others; there was not nor is not a loser in the AI: all of the contestants will go on to bigger and better things now. The ones who did not make to final 2 have talent also. So as a mother who is 44 with grown children i say you all who are being hateful need to stop and think about what you are saying or trying to say. God or The Greath Spirit or who ever you want to call him; said judge not yet ye be judged. So please stop saying hurtful things and be glad they both made it to the end.
Adam and Kris good luck and may you both find happiness and peace in your lifes.
Sexuality should never enter into it. What on earth has that got to do with anything anymore than infidelity and other personal issues in a person's life - like we're all perfect in every way!!! Gimme a break!! We should concentrate on a person's talent and our enjoyment from it and nothing more. And look at all the contestants who didn't attain the #1 title and went on to be better than that year's winner. A lot of people thought Kellie Pickler was a dumb blonde joke, but look at her now. Daughtry was voted off way before the end as well as Jennifer Hudson, and I'm sure they're laughing all the way to the bank. So......don't feel sorry for Adam. He's free to start his career without being under the thumb of the requirements of an AI winner for awhile. With the right songs (a must, regardless of how good a voice they have) and good arrangements, the top several contestants should go on to do very well. I for one, look forward to next year's AI.
Kerry Kolsch is a one person anti-Kris PR machine. I think Kerry posts some diatribe on every article or blog that exists. I've read random things about AI, and this is about the 10th time I've seen this name in the comment section. So apparently, Kerry has nothing better to do than to construct novel-length bashings of a person with whom she is not, nor ever will be acquainted. Kerry should follow Adam on tour and give him a print-out of all the things that (he or she) has written about Kris, and watch the expression on his face. Mr Lambert would probably consider this person a loon and summon security.
My advice: It's over...get on with your life...a TV show should not cause you so much distress.
Thanks for the info. Dax. Just did an internet search on Kerry Kosch.
Wow, someone sure is busy!
Ruthless! What kind of twisted minds do you have to suggest that what I said was hateful? You obviously have a problem with honesty. My point is that Adam, by all objective standards of talent, combining that with the X factor, “it” factor, the element that transcends mere mortals, moved the world in a way that no entertainer has in his generation. There is no compassion between Adam and Kris. Kris may be a singer Adam will be in the stratosphere as Jamie Foxx has said. You do not like it that I will not play your little game and say they are both good with the flawed philosophy of moral relativism? You do not have to believe me check Google Trends for the last thirty days, state by state. Adam even beats Kris in Danny’s home state. Ask a vocal expert about his voice. I have, Adam’s is magnificent, and Kris’s is ordinary. What was hateful and evil, no matter how nicely you want to cloak it was what happened to the vote. More people voted for Adam, more people would have voted for Adam but in many places in the country his phone lines were busy for four hours. It was individual people that produced thousands of votes each in Arkansas that threw the contest. Fair-minded human beings would be saying; the best performer should have won. How mean spirited are you when an injustice occurs rather then outrage at the injustice you condemn the person who points it out to you?
Kerry, Kerry, Kerry, why are you so worked up on Adam's loss and Kris' win, to the point of posting the same message that Arkansas, 'red-neckers' and Christians conspired to vote a 'mediocre' talent as the winner in practically every AI article there is? A simple Google search of your name easily shows it. Why rehash the same tired argument over and over ad nauseam? What are you trying to accomplish?
Both Kris and Adam stand to benefit from AI and may they be successful as artists, and as human beings.
Kris is incredible. I was extremely happy when he won. He is amazingly talented as is Adam. Kris' music just appeals to me more.
Both of them will do amazing in the music industry and I wish them both luck. =]
If you don't believe Kerry why don't you Google 'Operation Ding Dong' and KrisAllination.com. It is disgusting how Kris's fans cheat and then have moral outrage when you catch them at it.
I went to 'Operation Ding Dong' Kerry is right. They tell everyone how to cheat fro Kris. They tell people how to use internet phones so they can vote for 7 hours instead of 4. They mention the instructions being given out to cheat on Arkansas radio. They also say that Kris responds to people on the site. I have even more respect for Adam now because through this all he has remained the class act. Adam is the 'Good' and Kris is the 'Evil'.
Such venom being spewed. I voted for Kris and didn't cheat either! My entire family loves Kris............ages 13 to 63! We wish Adam the best and know he will be a great star. Kris is a different kind of singer and we who like him listen to his kind of music more often than Adam's rock.
But, we are also fans of Queen, Kiss, Rod Stewart, Jason Mratz (sp?), Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson and others. There is room for everyone in the music world. Actually, Celine Dion is our all time favorite and we are a large family. (My son loves hard rock, my grandson loves country......etc.
A lot of singers who were never on American Idol have become stars but usually the exposure catapults them to stardom more quickly. That will happen with Kris, Adam, Danny, Allison and some of the others so lets all chill and enjoy their music.
I read about this in the Arkansas Gazette. Not only did Arkansas cheat for Kris they did it with the help of one of the American Idol corporate sponsors AT&T. I do not find fault with Kerry I find fault with those of you who are morally bankrupt. Kerry is not condemning all of Kris’s fans, just him, and those who took part in what was going on in Arkansas. AT&T did not come to my town to teach power voting and hand out cell phones, it is reprehensible that a corporate sponsor would influence the vote in this manor.
“In Conway after Tuesday's performances, fans at the Estes Stadium watch party took out wireless phones and started making calls and firing off text messages - some voting on their own devices and others on phones borrowed from AT&T, which supplied about 50 display units and representatives to teach multiple 'power texting.'
“AT&T also made about 30 phones available in a 'texting zone' at a watch party at the Peabody Little Rock hotel”
I love this article that speaks the truth. Yes we all know the Arkansas town rigged the votes. Still a mind bogling to think about it, we all know it's been a few days and I can't stand seeing Kris with all the praise in the world
Then he made a statement that he wants to be respected???? Huh, tha't ain't gonna happen. Imagine you are wearing that crown for a year and for many years, that he did not win it fair and square but a cheats.
How can a town of Conway with 40 to 50 thousands people able to accomplished 38 millions votes alone. The entire Arkansas State population is only 2.8 million? That to me is questionable. There is noway they can get a 38 million votes in 4 hrs. If the votes indeed was a rigged.
What it said in this article is true. There will be no peace or end to the story.
I started to like Kris family but his Mother seems arrogant now, how good looking is his son. No parents should commented their kids like that, let it comes from other people.
The funniest thing from Kris Allen statement was:
He hopes the people votes base on talents. Not cuz of his religion or votes came from Danny Gokey's fans. Yeah Kris what talents??? huh!! you should think that twice before making suchs a statement you should question yourself, it ain't right you got that statemenet Correct. The sad part is your Town Cheated to give you the Title, how can you live with that being a Christian?
Even the mayor of your town should be ashamed of the accomplished they did. He even made the statement that 'we are proud' that 38 million votes came from Arkansas...hello idiot the total population of your State is only 2.8 million. The mayor should question that also, he should say wait a minute this is NOT right.
What is done is done, we just hope Arkansas will back up Kris when it comes of selling CD.
On the side note: This tell you something. Adam and Kris opened up a new Official Site for their fans. Guess how many Fans already sign up for Adam Lambert... 789 in one day.
Kris Allen Official Fansite has total of 86 fans sign in two days.
Now tell me how can Kris win that Idol title???? That alone should prove you how much supporter Adam truly has.
Also tells you that Kris didn't even break 100 fans online, took him two days to get 86 sign up. As far as I know it's less than 10 just others sign up 10 x more. Just how they rigged the voting system...tsk..tsk..tsk..
Just because some jerk sets up a site to cheat for either Kris or Adam, is not proof that Kris won from people who were cheating. I never saw the website and I voted for Kris. And if someone cheated, whose to say WHO cheated. To say that the cheaters were Christians, OR Arkansasnians, or the man in the moon, is unknown to anyone because when votes are cast there is no profile that goes with the vote. Quit assuming!!!! Voting is anonymous. For pete's sake, Adam just got an offer to be the lead singer for Queen. Are you disgruntled people still boo-hooing and attempting to mind read about WHY Kris won? Can you tell what made them vote as they did? If you can, more power to you, but let's face it, everything said about why Kris won is nothing but second-guessing b.s. written by mental midgets whose little hearts were broken and have nothing but resentment. Shut the heck up.
Screw you Kris mom, what is that supposed to mean that Kris doesn't have a skeleton in the closet? Are you sure about that?
Let's wait and see, you know media will dig in dipper to find out something that your son is hiding and they will find it.
You as a Christian at least you claims, cheating is Not allowed.
You bragged about that your son is good looking. hahaha
Crooked face when he sing, he can't even reach the microphone. He struggles everytime he sings, he is totally unfit to be the American Idol.
Sorry, if your town did not Cheat I will be so happy for Kris to get the title, but that is not waht happened.
Oh my gosh...enough with the 'cheating' thing already. KrisallenNation's fans did not cheat! Gizmo5 has been deemed acceptable to use by American Idol itself. It was also there for Adam's fans to use, since it's a free download available to anyone.
THE ONLY PURPOSE of the Gizmo5 download is to be able to call in other time zones, which increases the number of hours you can vote. You still have to place one call at a time. And once again, Adam's fans used the same tactic.
To Elaine McKillop: Power texting can be learned through any Idol fan site. Adam's fans used it extensively, too.
To Jessica: '38 million votes from Arkansas' etc. This is a FALSE newspaper report that AT&T says is not true. It was probably started by a disgruntled Adam fan and has spread among the other Adam fans who have been so desperately seeking ways to discredit Kris's fair win.
To May: Get a grip. Conway, AR did not cheat...they simply rallied around their contestant and voted as many times as they could because they wanted to see him win. San Diego could have done the same for Adam Lambert, but Californians simply don't care. And Kris's mom has been nothign but gracious, especially to Adam Lambert and his family.
Please people...learn the facts before you post such drivel.
Adam is amazing. In interviews he is so gracious and well-spoken. He reminds everyone that though he and Kris come from very different backgrounds, they found common ground and became close friends. He hopes the fans can take a lesson in that and find common ground rather than making this competition divisive. It's a shame that the Glamberts don't heed that advice - and a shame that there are so many homophobes among KA's fans. Kris is a very gifted craftsmen of songs and has a beautiful singing voice. That's why I, a gay man, voted for him all through this season. Adam is powerhouse singer and an amazing showman. They're both incredible and they both deserved to win. They complemented each other and they absolutely respected each other. Congratulations to them both.
Cheers once again to Kerry and all the folks that support Adam! Adam rocks and will always be remembered as the BEST American Idol contestant ever! I'm so happy that even Kris Allen said that the win should go to Adam, he knew who the true winner was.
'No Skeletons in his closet' ????
Wow, just what is that supposed to mean??
Kris's mom sounds like an ass. But she's right. Her son won the title because he's a good ol' Christian country boy from the South. He didn't win based on talent. The South has now produced 6 of 8 American Idol winners. They rally for their guy or girl no matter the talent or lack of involved. That's why he won. Simple.
And Kris is no matter talented in rearranging songs than Adam. People like to claim Kris as an 'artist' now because his voice is not all that. So they like to point out his 'gift' for arranging songs. As if.
Adam is not getting the credit he dereves for changing up the songs. Yes, he was inspired by other versions for some of them. But the singing was always his own. He never copied. I have listened to all the covers Adam has 'borrowed' from. They are very different. The vocal stylings of his versions are always completely different. Also, Smokey Robinson gave Lambert a standing O because Adam's 'Tracks of My Tears' was a complete innovation. Kris might've been good with rearranging songs too-but it is ridiculous to think that he had no help. All of the contestants work with various people, including song arrangers. Kris had plenty of help, he just never acknowledged it like Adam.
I realize people have to grasp at straws to justify Kris winning the title, but c'mon.
Paul, YOU should get a grip!
It's one thing to read about a website encouraging cheating, but it's another to provide irrefutable proof that such cheating occurred on a scale to skew the votes massively in Kris' favor.
What presumptuous and uncharitable comments we have here!
Hi smiley face...
I'm just defending someone who doesn't deserve the malicious attacks being thrown his way. I'm tired of the incredible amount of nonsense and false accusations coming from Adam's fans...
Kris and Adam are both friends, so are their families.
I have a grip on the facts (that methods of accumulating large numbers of votes were available to-and used by-both fan groups) and others are posting rumors and making accusations without proof.
Ray: It's not cheating when American Idol itself has deemed the methods acceptable.
I beg to differ with the poster. AT&T did post that 38 million votes came from Arkansas. That does not include the California phones given out. They have never retracted that figure, but now claim they will not disclose it. AT&T had fan sites, gave out phones with California numbers, gave the Conway City Council free AT&T telephones, taught power voting, had telephone recharging stations. A student friend of mine claims the college campus was bombarded with pro Kris promotions near Conway, they were not individuals but deep pocket AT&T corporate activity. This disgrace does not just effect Adam, but Danny. I am a Danny fan and Danny was a better singer then Kris and a true Christian that would never have taken part in this activity. The night Danny was voted off the votes went up by 17 million. Did AT&T have a hand in that? All I know is that everyone with ear for music picked Adam, Allison and Danny as the best singers, Kris was not fourth, let alone first.
Such hate. I am 52 years old and just glad to be here in this great world we live in. Congratulations to both Kris and Adam. They are both winnders with the way they have handled themselves and above all remained true to themselves and gentlemen.
A 'friend' does not stab someone in the back like Kris did to Adam. A 'friend's' mother does not claim that you have 'skeletons' in the closet. I am sure that Adam's parents will get wise to the righteous hypocrites. It is an insult to suggest that the Allen's son is any where near the talent of the Lambert's son. Adam excels in every way. Talent, intelligence, looks and heart.
Just for clarification what are you calling “hate”? Is it the screwing of Adam Lambert out of his rightful victory by Conway, Arkansas and corporate sponsor AT&T, is that what you are calling hate? Certainly that was an evil and hateful activity. Or do you suggest that even though there is ample proof that Conway and AT&T orchestrated activity to take Adam down, the mere talking about it is hateful? Which is it?
Grow up Kerry! You are not doing Adam any favors by your harsh comments and Kris bashing. Adam has class. He is happy for Kris and I'm sure he would not want his fans acting the way you are. Show Adam some respect by acting as he does . . . a gracious runner-up!
This is the wierdest forum I have ever read. I hate to say it guys, but you Kris bashers have a REAL PROBLEM! May-- Kris Allen's crooked smile is the cutest thing about him! I absolutely love his sweet face, kind eyes and there is just something about him that just conveys love and kindness. His voice is awesome and so is Adam's. Adam is also gorgeous and he has a kind smile. They would both be saddened and disappointed to read what some of those who post in this forum are saying. I think Adam would especially be disappointed to know that most of the people who claim to represent him can be so evil, especially May. I would venture to guess he is embarrassed at the hurtful things you have said about Kris because Kris and he are friends. How sad you all are. kris if you are reading this, I just want you to know one thing. You won because you are awesome. And Adam you were awesome all the way through too. Both of you have nothing but fabulous careers awaiting you. Please close your eyes and ears to these hateful people...obviously they have issues that have nothing to do with how either of you came across on AI. I can't wait to see and hear more of both of you on your best selling albums.
Kerry,
you should run for president. I'm sure you would have an outstanding band of supporters. You seem to be very well-educated and have a very clear sense of right and wrong, good versus evil. Dump that Obama fellow and let's get you right in there. Thank you so much for taking the time to enlighten the 'world' about the travesties inflicted on the populace by the American Idol voting system. Thank you for helping to show us that bigotry is alive and well in the American Idol voting system. Thank you for being so darn smart that you were able to show the rest of us how misguided we were in voting for Kris Allen. Silly people, didn't you know that in America you were not allowed to have an opinion that was in direct opposition to Kerry.
Kerry for president
brought to you by supporters of Kris Allen who also happen to think Adam is super talented
Kerry, thank you for your eloquent statement.
I feel as though you've perfectly described the total experience Adam gives his fans. What Adam brought to the competition was an almost flawless delivery each and every time, plus he paired each song with the correct ambiance from lighting to costuming. The ballads he sang were delivered with such heartfelt emotion that has rarely - if ever - been seen during an on screen performance. (maybe Paul McCartney when he sang Yesterday on Ed Sullivan) The rockin' songs were better than the original renditions. Where did Adam fail us? No where - at any time.
True Kris won, but to what end? Will he ever be the 'star' that Adam will? The answer is no. In fact his mother stated that he never went into the Idol process to 'win', but to just get exposure so that he could make a more sustainable career. Adam said from his very first audition that HE was the next American Idol. He was going for everything on this - no 1/2 way for him.
Watching the finale show - it was apparent that during any duet situation with Kris and Adam - whenever the 'hard parts came' it was always Adam who took the lead. There is no doubt in my mind that Kris never would have been able to pull off singing with Queen. It was sweet to see Adam carry Kris along on the big number - looking him in the eye to help Kris focus and hit the notes. Adam drove Kris to new heights. Helped him to enjoy the experience of a lifetime and not fret.
Adam never had a bad word or negative thing to say during this entire process. Who among us could have risen to the challenge with such graciousness and aplomb?
Adam - thank you for sharing your gift. I look forward to your concerts and CD's in the future. The sooner the better.
To Michelle:
I was going to give you some grief, but then realized that you really didn't go off topic...well except that little part when you pretended to be a psychic in predicting what the future holds for Adam and Kris.
Other than that though, you did a great job of supporting Adam without tearing down Kris. That is the American way.
brought to you by supporters of Kris Allen who think Adam is super talented
Too bad some of the people for either Kris or Adam don't have the class and goodness that these contestants have displayed. You don't do your
favorites any good by your disgusting rhetoric knocking one or the other and their families. And as far as the talk that the voting was rigged in favor of Kris - if that would be true, he can't be blamed for that - my god, get a life!
Kerry, I agree with much of what you've said, however, if the votes were stacked by Kris' church, he had nothing to do with it! It's the same thing as people getting upset over Danny and Adam being pimped so they'd vote for someone else just to spite the judges. It wasn't their fault and this isn't Kris' fault. As for the vote stacking, if it's true (I have no way of knowing one way or the other), it does seem to fly in the face of good sportsmanship, but you know what? It's done, it's over. Personally, I think Adam is in the better, more enviable place. He has the recognition and he can move on. My instinct tells me he'll be a worldwide megastar. We don't need to worry about him. I do worry about Kris, though. His victory will always be scrutinized, he'll always be compared to Adam, and the controversy will never end. When we think back on season 8 we'll think of one thing first: Adam Lambert. Kris may always be in Adam's shadow. I know I wouldn't want a victory like that. I never watched Ruben's victory, but I always felt sorry for him with the inevitable comparisons to Clay and the remarks that he didn't deserve to win. What does bother me a bit is the comment by Kris' mother. I don't know her and I'm sure she had the best intentions. but her comment was, well, insensitive. I'm sure many of this year's crop would be fine role models as well. I'm sure many of them have led skeleton-free lives (as if that entitled one to a music contest win). My advice is to let it go and hope for the best for these guys. I adore Adam and look forward to what he'll do in the future. While admittedly not a fan of Kris (I never really noticed him at all until the top 5), I wish him well too. He seems like a decent and humble guy.

When you learn to spell we might respect what you have to say.
I cant believe all of the terrible comments I am reading about Kris. He won and that is that. Both Kris and Adam were great and even though I voted for Kris, I would not have felt bad if Adam had won. Adam seems to be a class act and probably would not appreciate these comments. As for Kris' mother- I don't think the comment about Kris not having any skeletons in his closet was meant to imply that Adam does. I think she is just very proud of her son- as any mother would be.
It seems there is a bit of paranoia concerning Kris Allen's mom. Her comment about there being 'no skeleton's in Kris' closet' had nothing to do with Adam being 'gay.' It merely means that Kris has had no DUI's, drug problems, or anything else that the tabloids would drool over. He is just a nice, clean-cut American man who could be from 'anywhere USA.' He is also a nice guy looking for a way to make it into the music industry, like anyone else who gets on AI. To spew such hate and vitriol towards him is pathetic and you who do this should be ashamed of yourselves.
And if you think that KrisAllenation and Arkansas cheated to get the win for Kris, then do a little research on the web. I just did a google search and found an Adam Lambert fansite that taught their voters the same methods of 'mass voting' that KrisAllenation taught their voters.
So, if Kris Allen fans cheated, then so did Adam Lambert fans!!!
Finally, for all you poor losers who just love to 'whine' about Adam's loss, buy yourselves some cheese and crackers to go along with that 'whine' of yours, and do me and other Kris fans a favor; get 'over it' and leave Kris' mom alone!!!
To Kerry and all those mean, malicious and vindictive people who wrote demeaning remarks about Kris winning. The whole country voted for the American Idol winner and you guys turned around and made false accusations and lies. What rights do you have to do that???????!!! This is indeed very very disrespectful and only a reflection of the extreme ugliness of your personality. Shame on you people who wrote nasty stuffs of Kris fans. Where did your conscience lie? Stop bad mouthing others. You must be NOTHING BUT SICK SICK SICK.
Both Adam and Kris are the nicest guys, they both worked hard and played the game fairly (going so far as to discourage their respective fanbases from casting votes based on anything but talent). Neither of them deserves any ill-will for how the results played out.
Neither should the fanbase take the heat - the power voting was within the rules, and both sides are going to do their darndest to make sure their hero wins.
That having been said, a lot of other people *do* deserve ill-will. By the friggin' truckload.
The venomous talking heads (Perez and O' Reilly, I'm looking squarely at your sorry, sordid faces) who sought to politicise this to further their agendas.
Corporate sponsors who SHOULD have stayed clear of the fray - AT&T, I'm looking at you! How DARE you sponsor the powervoting in Arkansas but make no parallel gesture in California?!
Stage performers who should've known better than to shamelessly flog their favorite. Katy Perry (with your stupid Adam-cape), I'm looking at you! It's fine to pull this sort of stunt when you're behind the judges (i.e. within the audience), but once you're on that stage, you have to comport yourself with impartiality. Otherwise, people are going to get the wrong impression about 'pimpage' by the producers, etc.n Doesn't it feel great knowing you probably lost 'your boy' quite a few votes from the fed-up fence-sitters?
The parent(s) who just won't shut up - Kris's mum - I'm looking at you! That 'skeletons in the closet' comment seems a little pointed, don't you think? Almost like you're implying that your darling son's direct competitor DOES have some skeletons in his closet. Well, Adam has never been 'closeted' about what you might consider his 'skeletons'. And in any case, I do think the lady doth protest too much - this sort of comment is only going to be a red rag to the paparazzi bulls who will now work overtime trying (and likely succeeding) to find skeletons-aplenty in Kris's closet.
And just to correct some of the misconceptions here - Katherine (from the first page), please note that Kris was helped with his arrangements by others. Adam helped Kris to arrange his clincher, 'Ain't No Sunshine'. So please remember to give Adam (and others) credit for some of Kris's brilliant arrangements. The same applies to Adam, except he did overtly credit others who helped him with the arrangements immediately after his performances.
Bottom line - I think these guys have developed a deep and genuine comradeship and that should be respected. Let's not criticise them for how things turned out. But at the same time, there are some (whom I've mentioned) who do deserve blame for all the manipulation and negativity.
Linda, that was a great commentary. So well put and to the point. I never thought of it that way--if someone cheated, it is not anyone's fault but the cheaters, and who's to say which side did it. There is no one there checking on which votes came from where. I don't know who came up with the statistics that most of the votes were from Arkansas. That is totally ludicrous. Even it were possible to know, who would be the one to reveal that to the public? And yes, again I agree with Linda. Leave Kris Allen's mother alone. Just because she said her son had no skeletons is not an implication that she was talking about Adam being gay. How paranoid is that? I mean even Adam himself did not hide that fact, so his sexual preference cannot even be considered a 'skeleton.' There was a picture of him tongue-kissing a guy all over the internet throughout the whole competition, so he had nothing to hide. His sexual orientation, these days, is no longer considered something to hide anyway. Kris' parents are decent folks and not the type to discredit his opponent. Why would they need to? Their son was the winner. The paranoia about that comment is coming from a group of people who are extra sensitive about their sexuality. For them, I cannot speak, because I am not part of that culture, but it is understandable that they find it necessary to be resentful and will tend to look under every nook and cranny to see if someone is trying to make them look bad and they are probably pretty angry all the time about it. I am sorry for them - that's all I can say.. In the meantime, enjoy your favorite contestant for his talent and make it a nice day for yourself and someone else.
No skeleton in the closest means the person has an unasuming nature and has no pretenses but direct and sincere. Why are some people taking this term to attack Kris's mon? You must be feeling so jealous and angry with the whole world. It makes no sense why do that.
Stop saying hurtful and evil things to run down the winner, his parents, church, and fans. What satisfaction do you get?? America picked the correct winner. That was it. If you can't accept this fact, I suggest you just knock your head against the wall so that your senses return. You seemed to be out of your mind to write such words.
I sent a dozen sms to vote for Kris. What's wrong with that? I dont know him except that I enjoy his singing, taken in by his talent and wanted him to win. I live in California, born and grew up in another country. I didnt come from Arkansas or went to Kris Church. Please stop being so hateful. You have no reasons to bash somebody that way!!
Kris was the better singer and I will definitely buy his album. His songs were so soul searching. I love them.
Kris deserves to be the winner of American Idol. America has made the right choice. This is a fair game. The better one wins.

That little remark alone betrayed your prejudice. You're summarily profiling a whole bunch of people. FYI, I am heterosexual and I still felt that the 'skeletons' comment was uncalled for, especially when combined with the 'wholesome' remark. It's almost like she's attempting to draw a direct contrast to Adam's persona. Winners (and their parents) should be gracious in their victory.
By the way, Adam never leaked the 'kissing' photos - they were dug up by people who had nothing better to do. In a sense those *were* the 'skeletons in his closet', since they raised the issue of his sexuality and undoubtedly cost him many votes.
Kris' mom said the same 'no skeletons in his closet' comment after the Top 4 show on camera for Arkansas news station... She was not making any comparison to any other contestant left in the competition, she was simply saying that Kris is who he appears to be on camera, and he's not hiding himself or covering something up from his past. This is a common saying, but it is being completely misinterpreted by people. Just give her the benefit of the doubt! She and Adam's moms are like friends now, just like Adam and Kris are to each other.
I'm sure this has been addressed but nowhere does it say that Kris Allen's mom suggests that Adam has any skeletons. Skeletons could be anything from failing a class to joyriding.
I was a Danny Gokey fan from the start (hopes she doesn't get trampled on for that) but as the season went on I found more and more to like about Kris Allen. I've been around music my whole life, from band & choir to singing in bar bands on the weekend. While my taste in music these days drifts more to the top 40 or country...I was raised listening to Ozzy, Zeppelin, Judas Priest and Elvis. I wasn't an Adam Lambert fan, not because of him...but because his style doesn't mesh with my likes. I will say this...Adam's singing the night of the finale was the best I had heard him. When he relaxed and put the high notes to the side...he really showed that he is more than just a broadway/theater singer.
I would like to say...any dislike I might have had for Mr Lambert flew out the window when Kris won. No sooner had Ryan announced Kris as the winner and Adam was cheering like crazy for his friend. I'm sure he was disappointed that he didn't win AI...but you could tell that he was truly thrilled for his friend.
I'm sure someone will find something wrong with my post...and honestly I don't care. I believe music style had more to do with who ultimately took the crown. Both men are talented...each in their own way. Adam has stage presence that is amazing and a vocal range that is mindblowing. Kris' talents are for arrangement and his ability to perform on several instruments. Both young men are winners in my book!!!
Wow! So much bitterness from Adam fans! He's going to have an album by the end of the year or next year, buy in millions and have your revenge. For the meantime, accept the fact that he lost to Kris Allen in a competition where close to 100 million votes came in. I have friends from Texas and California who voted for Kris Allen. I would have if I'm in the U.S. except I'm assigned here in the Pacific. I'm not Christian, not tween and I have gay friends. It's just that we love how Kris Allen delivers his songs. That's all there is to it. Just like his mom said, he is on stage as he is in private. No skeletons in the closet. He sings with only his guitar and people listen. Kris and Adam are two different personalities - one is down-to-earth and the other one is flamboyant. It all boiled down to who was appreciated more - KRIS ALLEN.
Incidentally, his studio version of 'No Boundaries' is currently No.1 in iTunes. Can't wait for his album to come out, we'll also buy in millions.
Paul, I am outraged that Arkansas and other Kris Allen fans (or more like Adam haters) had to use methods like websites to work the votes. Seems like it didn't matter that Adam was the contestant with way more talent, people wanted to bring him down and deny him the win he so deserved. I applaud Kris for acknowledging that Adam should get the win in front of all America. I still feel YOU need to get a grip.
Well said Michelle!!! I 100% agree with your comment. Long live Adam Lambert!!
Kris Allen and Adam Lambert are great friends. To the Kook Kerry Koplsch saying this was a battle between Good and Evil and evil won. You are truly a nut.
First Adam was pimped from day one. Even Danny Gokey said that on Larry King Live, Allison even nodded yes. Watch the show. Matt Giruad said that the other contestants felt invisable because the judges and the show were pimping Adam so hard. Sure he was a good singer, but his type of singing was not everyones taste.
American Idol kept giving Adam special lighting, and gave him the last spot UNFAIRLY more than any other contestant. If he was that great why not put him singing at the beginning instead of always at the end. That was blantly unfair to the other contestants in the competition. Plus Adam has more stage and theater experience than the majority of the other contestants.
Kris, who SHOWED he was very talented and a musician played several instruments and re-arranged music to make it his own. Kris took a Disco song like She Works Hard For The Money and re-invented it. Kris took risks and picked songs that few people knew like Falling Slowly and sang it on the show. Adam had an unfair advantage against all the other contestants, but some people are too blind to see it. During the competition when Danny, Allison, Kris and Adam were in the competition Entertainment Weekly put Adam on the cover of its magazine, but never covered the rest of the contestants. You know what that is called UNFAIRNESS. The Show had Ricky Braddy take down his website because American Idol thought that was unfair, but let Adam appear on the cover of a national entertainment magazine DURING THE COMPETITION WAS ONE WITH 3 OTHER CONTESTANTS STILL IN THE COMPETITION. That is UNFAIR, BUT STUPID PEOPLE CAN'T SEE IT, because they are too busy kissing up to Adam.
That is why many people voted for Kris Allen, because they were SICK AND TIRED of all the pimping of Adam Lambert. The Underdog won against the over produced pre-packaged 'star' that Idol was shoving down our throats.
Now get over it.
I watched the final of American Idol and was absolutely shocked that Adam didn't win, I live in Scotland and it seemed such an anti climax, there was no media attention after it or views stated that I ended up looking at this forum for comments.
Sorry, but Kris seemed very mediocre and boring I didn't bother to listen to him half the time, he didn't hold my attention. I did feel the guy in the glasses was far superior to him in singing talent and he should have been in the final with Adam.
I can't believe that some people voted upto 1,200 times for Kris, that person and all the others who voted multiple times obviously have 1. too much money and 2. knew that being fair in this competition was never going to allow their wholesome american boy a win, ho hum! Plus I suppose all the little girls will vote for someone who is good looking, it doesn't matter what they sound like.
Adam reminds me of a young Elvis and I would have loved him to sing an Elvis song, that might have got a few of the Christian voters on side haha, although probably black nail varnish would put them off!!
I will look out for Adam's album because he is a truly magnificent singer and hopefully will play a concert over here. What was Kris's surname again?

This is a tale about Good v. Evil and how our perceptions can be so wrong. Week after week we were told that it was a contest between the L.A. theater guy and the guy who sings at church. Our theater guy Adam has an edge, he could get up on stage and be the bad boy swaggering to funky music, the man whose tears we tracked, or the cocky Rat Pack Romeo. Our heart was always in his hands and he could make us feel everything. There was something magic happening between him and his audience. Our L.A. guy was assaulted by the media in a way that was unprecedented for an Idol contestant. Diverse spectrums of our society wanted to suck off his media attention, everyone from Perez Hilton to Bill O’Riley wanted to further their social agendas. Wasn’t this a singing contest? Throughout this ordeal Adam worked to bring something we could love to the stage every week sang his heart out an amazed us with the awesomeness that is Adam Lambert. As we got to know him we realized that it wasn’t just that he could sing, he could charm, disarm and with intelligence and grace showed us how fearless winners perform under adversity. This is the man who was portrayed as “evil”.
The good boy with the crooked smile came in under the radar. If you don’t know what that really means, it is a euphemism for unimpressive talent. The good boy has been all over the world helping the poor we are told. The good boy is the hometown hero and is totally eclipsed by our L.A. guy. The world was watching Adam, producers being the opportunist that they are, had Adam sing last so as not to lose their audience. Judges were accused of “pimping” Adam by giving him praise. When the truth of the matter is that a very ordinary home town boy, the guy you can find in any college campus coffee house was wrongly elevated to the statute that would suggest that a competition was going on. Need I only remind you that Marvin Gaye was seen jumping out of his grave on finals night.
Second place was not what the marginal talent from Arkansas wanted. His team of savvy tech fans decided that in a display state pride that would go for the gold. It did not matter to them that the guy that was going for the legit win had bested Kris week after week. The guy we cried for, just for being in the bottom two, the guy that befriended his fellow contestants with such humility and praise that even they thought that they were more talented then they are. Kris and his Arkansas pals did not give a damn! Ruthlessly they set up shop to take Adam down. They planed it at church! They game planed on the radio! Kris hometown posted on the Internet how to generate thousands of votes per person how to defy the time zone restriction and in my opinion, how to jam Adam’s lines.
How many other contestants were affected by this vote stacking? Did less talented Kris take down Danny from his place in the show down; take Allison down on her strongest night? We will never know. Now Kris wants “respect” in the music business. Sure Kris.
This was a sleazy win by a reprehensible group of people. Kris has a hollow victory that lacks legitimacy. He knew when the winner was announced that the title he took belonged to Adam. Him and his fans screwed Adam! Let this be a lesson about public perception. Can Kris's mom be proud of this win? Just who was “Good” and who was “Evil”?
