The titans of American Idol, Ryan Seacrest and Simon Cowell, each have a special bond with their mothers.

This mother's day weekend, the two mums of the music and television moguls are talking about their sons, marriage and Idol.

Connie Seacrest and Julie Cowell Dish love their sons, and fret about their single status and speculate about their futures.

Southern charm and English elegance came together as Simon Cowell's ex girlfriend Terri Seymour introduced Ryan Seacrest’s mom Connie and Simon Cowell’s mum Julie for the very first time.

Julie says, “We never met before…Heard of each other.  Lots of times but never met.” It was a chat fest as the ladies dished about their sons surprisingly close relationship, their love lives and American Idol.

Although Ryan and Simon constantly bicker on screen, the two have a wonderful “bromance” – literally, Connie says, “Ryan thinks of Simon as a big brother.” Julie adds, “Older brother.”

Ryan has been linked to several women, but Connie tells “Extra” his busy schedule makes it hard for him to find “The One.”

“It’s every mother’s dream to see your son find a special relationship…I think Ryan will when he has enough time to put into a relationship but right now he is focused on his career.”

So, is Simon ready to tie on the old ball and chain? Perhaps, but he might need a reminder! Julie says, “He always used to say, ‘I don’t want to get married until I am 40’ and that’s when he was about 20. I thought that’s a long time. Then I reminded him, ‘Hang on, you’re 40’ and he went, ‘Oh, I am.’”

Seymour showed Connie a photo of Ryan as a cute but chunky kid. “I would pack his lunch like a good mother and he would throw it away. The next thing I know he’s got this different body and he’s working out…He just decided that he had to not eat because he had to look better for the girls.”

You would think their mothers have the inside dish about American Idol, but they tell Seymour that’s not the case! Connie says, “What’s interesting is so many people ask me Idol questions and I say…When I’m with Ryan, we don’t talk about Idol. We have so many other things to talk about.”

Julie weighs in on the ever present rumor that Simon will be leaving Idol. “He has said to me this year, ‘I need, Mother, this year to sort of slow down a bit.”…I said, ‘You said it before.” And he said, ‘No, I mean it this year.’”

The end of interview revealed the two women got on well and that a trip might be in their future. Connie says, “We’re already planning a vacation together.”

“Extra’s” interview with Connie and Julie airs tonight.

That's really cool. Its neat that the real-life Idol families get along so well.
