Lots of shock in the elimination Idol show tonight, as the sole female left, Allison Iraheta, was eliminated, and Gwen Stefani channeled the late Jack Palance and inexplicably did a few open armed push ups on stage while singing "I'm Just a Girl."
No Doubt will be embarking on the "we're bringing our nannies tour," without a new album or single to fall on, just the oldies.
Paula Abdul wheeled out some old moves too in a bid to reclaim her creative side and perform on stage once again.
"American Idol" viewers will now decide amongst the men, Allen, Lambert and Gokey.
The finalists were announced in random order. First person to safety was Kris Allen. He was more shocked than anyone at this news.
Former Idol contestant Chris Daughtry performed a great set before the rest of the men were ushered to safety, as Allison learned her fate.
Iraheta, 17, was teary as host Ryan Seacrest announced her name, then the tears really fell as she sang the Janis Joplin song "Cry Baby" in her final performance on the top-rated FOX show.
It should have been Gokey, based on the previous night's performance.
"I know I'm going to be playing you on the radio real soon," Seacrest reassured Allison..
The winner of the show's eighth season will be announced during a live finale on May 20.
