Hunt welcomes back Carrie Ann Inaba who comments on some of the final contestants on “The Bonnie Hunt Show,” airing on Friday, April 24th (syndicated/log on to bonniehunt.com for stations and times). Carrie Ann tells Bonnie, “This is my favorite season ever because you don’t know who is going to stay on top.”
Bonnie asks her what it’s like to watch Gilles Marini dance close up and she laughs, “Exactly as you think it might be. It’s like, ‘Oh, menopause!” It gets very hot!” Carrie Ann tell Bonnie that final four are all of her favorites and weighs in on what she likes about some them: Gilles Marini – “Well that’s obvious. Hello?” Lil’ Kim – “I just love her. She just gets out there and is so unexpected. She’s so effervescent. She’s fun. She’s vibrant” Melissa Rycroft –”She’s a really good dancer and watching her and Tony (Dovolani), Tony is sort of blossoming. Tony is really shining this year and I think that is because he’s working with an excellent dance partner. Normally Tony and I fight at least once a season…and this year it’s not happening so I am very happy he is with Melissa because he‘s not on my back.” Bonnie also asks Carrie Ann about her dating life since her break-up with a fellow dancer.
Although she wouldn’t tell Bonnie how she met him saying, “It’s a funny story. I don’t know if I am ready to share that one yet. It will be in the book,” she does say, “I’ve met someone. His name is Jesse. He’s an accountant and he’s a normal guy. He’s wonderful. I keep going, ‘When is this going to stop?’” Bonnie and Carrie Ann discuss David Alan Grier’s angry departure and Carrie says that it was “misdirected anger” and that he wrote her a very heartfelt apology. But tells Bonnie, “I love David Alan Grier. He’s funny.”
