National Geographic channel's in-depth documentary "Locked Up Abroad" returns this week with an episode that will take you to Caracas, Venezuela.
The National Geographic Channel series "Locked Up Abroad" profiles the true stories of foreigners who have been arrested or kidnapped while abroad, telling the harrowing tales with first person interviews from the victims.
The riveting series shows all travelers the realities and aftermath of breaking the law in foreign countries. If you have college-age children thinking of going overseas, make sure they watch this series.
A new season of Locked Up Abroad began April 1st. The inaugural episode began in Peru, with the episode "Locked Up Abroad: Cuzco."

David Evans was a struggling musician in Atlanta, Ga., and was having serious trouble making ends meet. When a club-goer named Melvyn offers David an opportunity to make $5,000 for delivering cocaine from Venezuela to Europe, along with a vacation in a tropical climate, David sees an enticing way out. He doesn’t tell his girlfriend, Julie, who plans to meet him in Amsterdam for a concert tour. Melvyn reassures David that the smuggling is safe. But when David’s suitcase — loaded with aerosol cans containing cocaine — is examined at the airport, he is imprisoned in Venezuela, sleeping on concrete floors with roaches, while Julie is abandoned in Europe.
