This is on the heels of the scandal that recently broke in the small Alaskan town. A half sister of Gov. Sarah Palin's husband has been accused of breaking into the same home two times with the intention of stealing money.
Channel 2 KTUU reports that Diana Palin is charged with two counts of felony burglary and misdemeanor counts of criminal trespass and theft in connection with the break-ins this week at a home in Wasilla.
Diana Palin was in court today, Friday following her arrest the previous night.
Deputy Wasilla Police Chief Greg Wood says Palin was discovered by the homeowner, who hid in the home to see if he could catch the burglar who stole $400 Tuesday night.
Diana Palin is Todd Palin's half sister.
Now Gov. Palin has her daughter Bristol Palin's former fiancé and father to her child Tripp talking about their sex life on national television.
Levi Johnston told Tyra Banks he practiced safe sex "most of the time" when they were together.
He also believes Sarah Palin knew what was up. "I'm pretty sure she probably knew. Moms are pretty smart," Johnston, 18, says in an interview set to air April 6.
During the campaign, the shock of the pregnancy was assuaged by talk of marriage by the GOP candidates.
The two have since broken up.
Johnston's mother Sherry, and sister join him on The Tyra Banks Show.
The family reveals the constraints put on them by the GOP party bosses to keep the chatter to a minimum.

Levi Johnson is a jerk. His parents are even worse. Tyra Banks should be ashamed for even asking them to come on her show. It is very easy for the young man to do this since it is obvious he doesn't feel any responsibility for the damage he is doing to his child or the child's mother. WASILLA -- Todd Palin's half-sister was arrested Thursday after police say she broke into a Wasilla home to steal money for the second time this week but ended up getting caught by the armed homeowner. The woman's 4-year-old daughter was nearby, police said.
Homeowner Theodore Turcott told police an unfamiliar gray 1993 Toyota Camry pulled into his driveway Thursday morning, according to a affidavit filed Friday at the Palmer courthouse. Turcott told police he'd been burglarized twice recently: Someone stole $2,200 on March 26, leaving $400 behind, and after another apparent break-in Tuesday, all but $9 was gone.
So, Turcott told police, when he didn't recognize the woman getting out of the Camry, he grabbed a gun and hid in the bathroom to see what would happen, said Wasilla police Deputy Chief Greg Wood. Palin made straight for the bedroom cabinet where Turcott kept his cash, Wood said. Turcott confronted her, detaining her until police arrived, he said.
But before officers got there, Palin's 4-year-old daughter came into the house, the prosecutor handling the case said during a Palmer District Court hearing Friday.
'There was a significant safety issue regarding this 4-year-old child,' prosecutor Mike Walsh told Judge John Wolfe. The girl told police she'd been to the house a couple of days earlier, the affidavit stated. Palin, however, said she had never been there before, and mistakenly thought it was a friend's house.

The Alaska Democratic Party today objected to a request from Governor Sarah Palin’s Office for another two months of additional time to release official emails sent and received by Governor Palin in 2007 and 2008.
The Alaska Democratic Party’s request for the Governor’s emails about specified topics already has been pending more than six months, since Sept. 22, 2008. The latest request from Linda Perez, Palin’s Administrative Director, to Acting Attorney General Rich Svobodny asks for an additional extension until May 29. As required by regulation, affected parties have an opportunity to comment on the request for delay. In addition to the Democratic Party, records requestors affected include NBC Nightly News, CNN, msnbc.com, The Associated Press, Mother Jones, and several individuals.

Palin’s abrupt firing of Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan is now being investigated by a special counsel hired by the Alaska Legislature as to whether there was any official misconduct.
The Legislature is spending up to $100,000 “to investigate the circumstances and events surrounding the termination of former Public Safety Commissioner Monegan, and potential abuses of power and/or improper actions by members of the executive branch.”
Sarah Palin and Levi have a lot in common. Both we're totally unprepared for the spotlight. Levi will end-up on some reality show called, Baby Daddy, with folks like Kevin Federline, Dennis Rodman, and other assorted sperminators. Tragic, because this really shouldn't have happened. If McCain had picked Mitt Romney he might have been president but he was totally hard headed and intransigent on this point and in the end would've proven himself to be a George Bush clone. Both he and Bush we're legacies at anything they did and only really got anyplace because of their connections. McCain would've been tossed out of the Naval Academy if he was anything other than a son of a son of an admiral and of course his record of crashing jets was something less than admirable. You've got to wonder if his reckless and feckless attitude was somehow responsible for his capture as a POW? Once when I was in the military I was confronted by a fellow Marine with a chest full of ribbons and purple hearts. After he left the room another senior service member who had been in just as much harm's way said that while all of those ribbons were certainly impressive, getting shot and taken prisoner were not. He showed incredible courage under pressure but did he ever really need to be in that situation?
The assertions by Levi that Governor Palin knew that he and Bristol were sleeping together are just not true. Anyone who has any knowledge of Governor Palin will tell you that she would absolutely not condone this sort of behavior. Levi has been a big disappointment. I had thought he was a hard working young man trying to make the best of a bad situation. I had great respect for him. Now I see he has become a liar and profiteer.
Notice that the right wing has not gone after Joe Biden's daughter because they feel that this sort of attack is not ethical. None of the major right wing bloggers or networks have covered. It says a lot about the left does it not?

Says who? Who died and left YOU the authority? Palin's problem is this steady drumbeat of scandals, with her cop brother in law, and clothing expenditures, and failing to comprehend and reply to simple-enough questions for a VP candidate (the nation escaped financial decimation when Obama got in).
Your opinion (and that's all that it is) of Palin is based, apparently, on some brainwashed 'give-a-free-pass-to-the faithful' notion that the right wing uses to pardon their own shortcomings. This woman simply has no competence for higher office; but rather has been schooled in public appearances - on that basis, the left-wing should run Britney Spears, because she puts on a good show. Matter of fact, Sarah's lip-syncing of someone else's words is a good idea.

What we really need is an IQ test for voting; as well as some demonstration of knowledge of the American Constitution and laws. It's needed for a resident alient to become a citizen. People need a license to drive. Why not to vote?
According to the Government, Palin could not even qualify for citizenship on moral grounds; with her problems considered collectively. Child Services certainly would not condone her actions.

Palin, 35, is detained at Mat-Su Pretrial Facility for felony burglary, misdemeanor theft and criminal trespass charges. She was arrested on Thursday after being caught trying to burglarize a home near Wasilla's Multi-Use Sports Complex. The owner of the home had caught her and called police before she could steal any money.
Police believe Palin, who claims to have mistaken the home for a house of a friend, broke into the home earlier this week. According to reports her 4-year-old daughter was with her when she was arrested.'
(The real story here may be the abject cowardice of the GOP's not disowning her in contemplation of her next bombshell. Sarah was always an abject pander to the brainwashed on the right, who now form the party base after anyone with a brain defected to Obama).

(Alaska also seems to have the biggest phony in any governor's mansion, and with Blagojevich out, perhaps the governor with the largest number of scandals.)

I agree that Bubba is a jerk - probably lives down by the river in an old trailer with his coon dogs. Anyway, I also agree that Tyra looked like a jerk herself in the review of her next show, when she kept going gleefully at this kid about 'unprotected' sex - anything to make ratings.
She turns my stomach! And for Angie Harmon to generalize Rupublicans is laughable just as it is to generalize any group under one opinion. The entire situation with these kids has been played around the world many times with many families, but Palin should have been smart enough not to parade this couple around during her campaign and keep professing what was going to happen in their lives. This boyfriend was nothing more than that at the time, so what was the chance that he would end up a husband.
I don't think she needed to keep her daughter under wraps, but too much unnecessary exposure did none of them any good.
Obviously the FACT of Bristol's pregnancy was known earlier - so why did Palin think that she could hide it?

The campaign released word of the teen's pregnancy to knock down claims on Internet blogs that the teen - not her mom - secretly gave birth to Trig, who has Down syndrome.

Besides his hard play on the ice, Levi Johnston was also a bit of a hell-raiser off it - another reason Bristol may have been smitten. State troopers popped Johnston last year for snagging some king salmon out of season in Moose Lake, records from Alaska wildlife enforcement show. He had to pay $370 bail. On his MySpace page, Johnston proudly declares: 'I'm a f---in' redneck.' 'I live to play hockey. I like to go camping and hang out with the boys, do some fishing,' he says on the site. He also warns that if anyone messes with him, 'I'll kick ass.'

Involving Levi publicly became a risky cover-up, not a solution. Now, Palin acts surprised that the kid is going public with the circumstances that led to the pregnancy.
A person like Palin who has no control over her family (note her sister-in-law's arrest for burglary) is soap-opera material; not presidential.
Those who blindly excuse her outright stupidity in handling such matters, in order to see her propped up as a VP candidate, are traitors to this country, and to the Democratic system whereby a voter is supposed to THINK about who they're voting for. The nation has had enough 'gut-feel' from Bush - and look where it left us.
It's time for intellect; not intestines. Obama is an example of moral fortitude in putting up quietly with the right-wing crappola, while speaking clearly on the topics that he was elected to deal with. 90 percent of those problems, including Afghanistan and de-regulation, stem from the past 8 years when those same idiot voters cast their ballots for an idiot for President; and thereby provided a means for Cheney (who is still incapable of shutting up) to screw up our international policies - leaving Obama to spend valuable time in rebuilding the American reputation amongst the G20 nations ... and more importantly; the VOTERS in those nations who despised Bush. That explains why the leaders of some Euro nations cannot cough up needed support for Afghanistan, or for remedying the world economic situation. That explains the need for Obama to speak directly to those voters, as in Prague, and other major cities.

What the GOP has to find is someone schooled (as she was) in public appearances, to get the alleged 'charisma' that she has - sort of a female Huckabee, since his religious leanings were acceptable to the cretins who saw Palin as VP material.
McCain is also finished as a candidate, for going along with her selection. I don't want to hear from an idiot who selected another idiot to run the country. Steele of the GOP seems to be another ignorant token to attract minority voters - every time he speaks up, his ratings go down.
The GOP ends up banking on Limbaugh, Fox, and Barone to keep the public stirred up - while Obama makes the case for having the courage of his convictions, and the demeanor of a leader.

Seriously - you're avoiding the subject, and being a hypocrite by trying to deflect. Hypocrisy is disgusting. Getting someone preggers in her own mother's house is disgusting. Walking away from the relationship is nothing to brag about.
Sarah's knowing about all of this and not letting the public know, until the rumors about Trig began circulating, is an insult to the voters.

I'm sure he did it for the money; but also to get even with being made a fool of. He had to do the dog-and-pony show to keep Sarah in the race, and then apparently got dumped on as a reward. Talk about a shotgun marriage.
Everyone involved in this hoo-hah got contaminated - even McCain. He takes the blame for not knowing better than to allow her to run as a VP. Levi and his parents need to stay off the talk show circuit. They have done nothing to earn even 5 minutes of fame. Levi should work on getting an education and getting a good job so he can support his son. Next time practice safe sex all the time, not most of the time.
