The pretty young mother from Memphis, Tennessee is off of "American Idol."
Alexis Grace was eliminated from the show's eighth season on Wednesday when her rendition of Dolly Parton's "Jolene" during the show's country music-themed week failed to impress.
All four judges passed on their onetime per season vetos to save her from elimination at the end of Grand Ole Opry week.
"It was good," said judge Simon Cowell, "But it wasn't good enough."
Kara DioGuardi said, "I think you lost your edge a bit."
Grace replied, "I wish I could have done better, but ... things happen for a reason."
Wednesday's elimination sets in place the show's top 10 finalists who will join the "American Idol" summer tour.
Country crooner and ex Idol contestant Carrie Underwood performed a duet of "I Told You So" with singer Randy Travis.
The Idol ten cast is Adam Lambert, Anoop Desai, Danny Gokey, Kris Allen, Lil Rounds, Matt Giraud, Megan Joy, Scott MacIntyre, Michael Sarver and Allison Iraheta.
