The details of Sarandon’s ER Guest Appearance were revealed to “Extra.”
Sarandon is set to play a tough spirited grandmother forced to deal with the untimely death of her grandson in the episode airing Thursday, March 12th.
This episode also stars ER alum Julianna Margulies.
ER airs on Thursdays at 10pm on NBC.
Sarandon will be Broadway bound too.
Oscar winners Geoffrey Rush and Susan Sarandon will be appearing in Eugene Ionesco’s comic take on death, “Exit the King.”
This is Rush’s Broadway debut, with Neil Armfield directing and Lauren Ambrose and Andrea Martin in the ensemble.
Sarandon plays Queen Marguerite, married to the king for 283 years and rejected for a trophy wife played by Ambrose.
“Intellectually, I said this is going to be really good, to take me out of my comfort zone, this will stretch me,” she told Bloomberg news. “But then, of course, after we started I thought, ‘What was I thinking? I’m terrified! This is so hard.’”
“Exit the King” begins previews at the Barrymore Theatre on March 7 and opens on March 26 for a limited run.
