12/18/2008 - Courteney Cox - ABC has greenlit "Cougar Town," a comedy starring Courteney Cox, from "Scrubs" creator Bill Lawrence and Kevin Biegel. © Albert L. Ortega / PR PhotosVariety reports that Cox will portray a forty-something mom with a 17-year-old son.Also noted were Kelsey Grammer comedy, from Warner Bros. TV and Tom Werner's Good Humor TV, where Grammer is cast as a former Wall Street star who's forced to reconnect with his family after losing his job.Comic Cedric the Entertainer will star and has co-written the script with Bob Fisher for a half-hour series from DreamWorks TV and ABC Studios about reserve police officers for the LAPD, according to Variety. "Canned" is about a group of friends who all get fired on the same day.
