Amy Sedaris is joining the cast of The Closer on February 16th for her 2-episode arc.

Sedaris' brilliant work on the smallscreen was highlisted by "Strangers With Candy", which was later made into a film.
Sedaris is the sister of author David Sedaris and hails from North Carolina.
Amy studied and performed with Chicago’s Second City. She has had recurring roles on such shows as "Just Shoot Me," "Sex & the City", "Monk", "Cracking Up" and most recently "The Closer."
Sedaris is currently writing for her a new sitcom with 20th Century Fox.
Her New York theatre credits include Wonder of the World , The Country Club, The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told and Talent Family Plays (written by David and Amy Sedaris): Jamboree, Stump the Host, Stitches, One Woman Shoe, The Little Frieda Mysteries, Incident at Cobble Knob and most recently The Book of Liz.
In October 2006, Amy published her best-selling book “I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence.” Amy works to support her cupcake and cheeseball business that she runs out of her apartment.

With her parents (guest stars Frances Sternhagen and Barry Corbin) in town, Brenda is busy preparing for her upcoming wedding. Duty calls, however, when a cell phone is found containing text messages that point to a possible homicide. The case becomes a race against time when the police realize there may be more than one killing involved. Tagging along for the investigation is Fritz’s vegan sister, Claire (guest star Amy Sedaris), who fancies herself a psychic (or as she says, “an intuitionist”).
