"Leverage" is a solid hit for TNT.
The critically acclaimed hit series will be back for a second season, according to an announcement today by Michael Wright, executive vice president, head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM).
TNT has ordered 15 new episodes which stars Oscar winner Timothy Hutton, Gina Bellman, Christian Kane, Beth Riesgraf and Aldis Hodge.
The show airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. (ET/PT), with the second season slated to begin later this year.
Dean Devlin’s Electric Entertainment produces the series, with John Rogers and Chris Downey as executive producers.
The show ranks as ad-supported cable’s #1 entertainment program in the Tuesday 10 p.m. (ET/PT) timeslot among viewers, households and adults 25-54.
“We’re thrilled that audiences and critics have responded so positively to LEVERAGE and made the show a solid hit,” Wright said. “We look forward to another great season of fun and exciting storylines brought to life by the outstanding cast, led by Timothy Hutton, and the incredible production team, headed up by executive producers Dean Devlin and John Rogers.”
Dean Devlin has introduced a modern day thriller that rallies a band of equally talented specialists who work together under group leader Nathan Ford, played by Timothy Hutton.
The show works on every level; the pistons are firing in the writing, casting and crafts.
John Rogers and Chris Downey’s percolating caper scripts and Devlin’s directorial eye make for a great new series to dive into, as Devlin enthusiastically described his latest series as “a modern day Robin Hood” during a recent interview with Monsters and Critics.
