The unexpected news even spurred Swayze's costar from his A&E series :The Beast" to speak to reporters about the news.
Swayze's "The Beast" co-star, Travis Fimmel, spoke to reporters at the Television Critics Association event at the Universal Hilton.
Fimmel expressed his best wishes for Swayze, and in a show of a support for his onscreen partner said, “I think you saw on Barbara Walter’s…how honest he is. That’s what you have to respect about the guy...He's just an amazing, strong human being."
About Swayze’s hospitalization, Fimmel told Extra, "I don’t think it's serious at the moment. Your immune system is very weak when you're doing chemo so the little things, you go in the hospital to see if things are okay, to be on the safe side.
He talked about his concerns for his health back in Chicago while filming: “Of course, you're worried. But if anybody is going to get through it, it's him. He never showed any signs of weakness on set once.”
