It wasn't a sexual thing, more a business transaction to ensure Crane's fortune went to his pal easily.
For years Denny Crane on David E. Kelley's "Boston Legal," dealt the best lines and got away with murder.
Post "Legal", William Shatner has wasted no time with other projects and has a new talk show on Biography, and has written an autobiography too.
His book is titled "Up Till Now," and the hat show is "Shatner's Raw Nerve" - described as an "edgy and off-beat celebrity interview series."
Kyra Phillips on CNN interviewed Shatner today about his career, past and present.
Shatner discussed the "wedding": "It was all a financial guise, as you learned to your dismay. There was nothing sexual about our marriage. It was all designed to bequeath my fortune to him as [my character] got ready to die."
Shatner gave CNn a taste of what his new talk show has in store for us all, an interview with porn queen Jenna Jameson:
"We like to call her an adult film star. She turns out to be highly sensitive, vulnerable. ... This is a remarkable interview of a woman who is terribly vulnerable and expresses it. It was so good, we're doing a two-parter."
