It isn't variety shows that are dead. It's Rosie's career. She is so blind to it, but people don't like her self-absorbed bitterness and acidic attitude. I don't personally approve of her lifestyle, but I don;t approve of Ellen's either and I still find her a pleasant entertaining person.

Rosie's dominant feature is the chip on her shoulder. It's ugly and that makes her a very ugly person. I'm not talking about looks either.

The show was good. Let's face it, variety shows are entertainment in a different sense. Singers sing songs that emphasize lyrics, comics joke, dancers dance in a manner that focuses on choreography. Variety shows like the one that O'Donell is trying to bring back are not the type of shows that have females singing with their stance spread, or dancers jumping until their boobs almost fall out. This is what sells these days. It's entertainment of a different sort, and most people seem to be okay with that. It doesn't require that much artistic skill, and it still demeans part of the population. I am rooting for O'Donell, though.

Why does the first post have to say anything about Rosie's lifestyle? Even worse, that person doesn't 'approve'. Idiot.

May I be as bold to suggest a show featurung televisions two most angry and disturbed hosts?I'm talking about a variety show with Bill o'reilly and rosie! A little knive throwing, lots of yelling, embarrest, bewildered guests, improv format, you know a general lack of any talent. Why not?
NBC, I'll take my consulting fee now.

The show was awful. I had hopes for it because I (usually) like Rosie and I like Variety shows. It played like an unrehearsed fundraiser with big names. If I'm seeing a prime time variety show, the result should look better than a telethon. This show failed miserably in all respects.

HONK BLAT SQUEEEEAL
Wanna know why your career jumped the shark?
Hassling perfectly normal nice guy Magnum PI Tom Selleck.
You think people dont remember what a rude pig you were to Tom and still are?

The reality is that people dont like you. Your overbearing pushy fat girl shtick doesnt work. You befriend other social outcasts like sad lonely junkie boyGeorge in your attempt to be a fag hag? Or is it just so that misery will have company and you can have a 'lets eat lots of ice cream and wallow in our blubbering self perpetuating pity party' and maybe someone will pay attention to you, since your occupations seem to be pathetically sad attention whores.

Get off the air, take your place in the shadows, and make way for the talented, your 15 minutes were up several years ago, and now, its just annoying at best.

There is actually very little on any of the stations that is entertaining or intellectually challenging in any way. I find I turn off the tv more often than not. Shows are boring, way too sexual in every way and so inappropriate for every age group. Wake up Hollywood and give tv viewers and movie goers something really good. We don't want to watch people make love, beat each other up and stalk anyone who says the wrong thing. Don't you know yet that the most romantic scenario is what you DON/T see.

rosie is over.

We decided early on we were not going to give Rosie the ratings by clicking on her show. She is a fat, self absorbed, idiot who needs to just dissapear. Her crusade against guns is a expression of hyposcracy.. her body gaurds all pack heat.. so she can be safe and we peasants can't? To he** with Rosie- let that fat pig wallow in the mud of failure.

Rosie should never be on TV again. The chip on her shoulder blocks anyone from seeing her anyway. Lifestyle has nothing to do with it, just the fact she is not entertaining and she makes terrible choices for entertainment.

Why would anyone choose Kathy Grif to be on their show? She is about entertaining as a blade of brown dead grass! (just like Rosie)Leave her on that dead network Bravo.

Variety Shows are not dead if done properly. No I am not a critic but I do not assume that I am entertaining either.

Give it up Rosie. Fire the idiots at the network that thought this was a good idea and let's get some real entertainmnt on TV!

Variety shows will return and receive the high ratings the good ones deserve. Shows such as American Idol and Dancing with the stars have been well received because their only purpose is to entertain.

This sorry excuse for a variety show and host, just served to remind the hollywood elite that politics and bitterness is best left to the nightly news and cable.

Get a 'likeable' host with a 'talented' cast and variety shows will return with a vengeance ala the 70's ..

Rosie is so many things: hateful, spiteful, mean-spirited, divisive and an all around egotistic slob.
I also blame NBC for being oppositional to viewers. They killed off Vegas which was a great show; now I hear they are killing Lipstick Jungle. Guess I'll have to find some other station to 'must see'.
