"Twilight" star Robert Pattinson, 22, was one of last night's guests to chat with host Jay Leno on NBC's The Tonight Show.
Pattinson came out after Jay interviewed Heidi Klum, who thought showing everyone her old rotten yellow "lucky" teeth was a good idea.
The young star talked to Jay about the Twilight-mania gripping the world currently.
Klum was fascinated by Pattinson's hair: "Do you wake up like that or did you style it like that?"
"I kinda wake up like this," Pattinson responded.
Pattinson will be seen in a small film before "New Moon" is in production, and he has been carefully selecting other projects.
He spoke to MTV previously about his other project "Little Ashes" about Salvador Dali's last days: "I did it before 'Twilight,' and I assume it will come out at some point next year," he said recently when we asked him about "Little Ashes'...It's a tiny, tiny movie, and I don't know what would have happened [to it] if 'Twilight' hadn't happened."
In "Ashes", Pattinson appears with actors Javier Beltran and Matthew McNulty, Pattinson told MTV that "Ashes" prepped him for the role of Edward Cullen.
"It was the first job I had where I had an opportunity to really obsess over something, and I brought that mentality into 'Twilight,' doing that as well. When I was working in Spain doing ['Ashes'], no one spoke English. I was the only one that spoke English on the whole set most of the time. So all I did was read about Dalí and just think about the script a lot. ... I realized that if you fight enough to find what the story is, it will start to form how you want it to form. So many actors are so subservient to their directors, they forget they are human beings — a director can't know everything."
