'Leave it to Beaver' Tony Dow has art exhibit at the Louvre

Wally and the Beav- photo from TV LandDow perfected the role of big brother on the television show that ran in the late fifties and early sixties.Now the actor turned sculptor will have his artwork on display at the Louvre in December, The Associated Press reported. Mr. Dow’s sculpture “Unarmed Warrior,” was described as a bronze work of a woman holding a shield, will be among the pieces displayed at the Louvre’s Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts exhibition, and will be shown from Dec. 11 to 14. “Having something shown at the Louvre is about as good as you can get,” Mr. Dow, 63, told The Associated Press.In "Beaver", Tony Dow and Jerry Mather portrayed loving brothers.Dow, 63, is now a sculptor of modern art, and one of his bronze pieces was reportedly given to their former TV mom, Barbara Billingsley, whose June Cleaver is considered a classic American mother-archetype.
