Barak did indeed stay very constant and unwavering during the campaign. He and his campaign managers did an excellent job of getting his stance on policies out there without playing negative attacks. McCain on the other hand, appeared to have managers who fell down on the job big time, as well as McCain agreeing to letting negative attacks rule his campaign. That, Palin, helped to do McCain in at the end.
