'Melrose Place' may get new life: CW exploring idea

Everything old is new again at the CW, where "90210" has come back from the smallscreen vault to a new life on the network, and now the resurrection of spin-off "Melrose Place" is being kicked about as a potential follow up project. Heather Locklear may have a potential job in her future. © Lee Roth / RothStock / PR PhotosVariety reports that the CW and CBS Paramount Network TV are exploring the possibility of redoing this old chestnut from the days of yore."Melrose Place" was a Fox staple in the early nineties, and ran from 1992-99 and was a star vehicle for Heather Locklear who played the conniving Amanda Woodward. The series starred Courtney Thorne-Smith, Andrew Shue, Marcia Cross, Thomas Calabro.Rob Estes, who was cast later during the original "Melrose Place" now is cast as the father on the CW's new "90210."
