Appendectomy scheduled for DWTS Julianne Hough - Los Angeles, CA, USA © Glenn Harris / PR PhotosMonday, dancer Julianne Hough announced she’ll be having surgery on Tuesday to remove her appendix. Her partner, Cody Linley, will be dancing with Edyta Sliwinska next week (if voted through) while Julianne recovers.This makes the first time in the injury and mishap laden DWTS history that a celebrity’s dance partner was replaced during the competition. Cody did the samba with Julianne Monday night, and if voters send him to the next round, he’s going to have to deal with the fact that substitute partner, Edyta, is bigger than him.Warren Sapp turned in a well-received rumba with partner Kym Johnson. His large frame gracefully handled the quick moves on the floor.The show has been plagued with injuries. Olympian Misty May-Treanor bowed out after rupturing her Achilles tendon, and Brooke Burke and Susan Lucci's foot injuries also caused some problems for the contestants.Last season saw Cristian De La Fuente leave over an arm injury and Derek Hough go to the hospital for a bad fall.So far Lance Bass and partner Lacey Schwimmer are kicking the high scores, and did a jive the judges loved.Underdog Cloris Leachman and partner Corky Ballas got the lowest score of the night, and a sound lashing from Carrie Ann who wished Leachman would be voted out. Leachman is the good-natured comic relief of the show.

Cloris needs to go now before she does damage to herself. I think the performers don't know what they are getting into when they agree to do these dances that the professionals have practiced on for years. No wonder so many are getting injured.
