Several news sources including TMZ.com and Access Hollywood report that there is a scramble underway at NBC's "Saturday Night Live" to replace Amy in planned segments.
Poehler will obviously miss tonight’s episode of “Saturday Night Live.”
“Amy is not here, she is having a baby,” her Weekend Update co-anchor, Seth Meyers, announced at the top of the rehearsal for the segment, according to the Access Hollywood source.
“We can’t wait to hear,” he said at sign-out. “Amy, we love you.”
Poehler opened the season of SNL with fellow alum Tina Fey on September 13, 2008, with Fey playing Sarah Palin and Poehler as Hillary Clinton doing a "joint political campaign spot." Poehler's Hillary Clinton was a hilarious take on the career politician played against Fey's chirpy rendition of a superconfident Palin.
The baby boy is a first child for Massachusetts' native Amy and husband Will Arnett, and was due on Sunday, October 26.
