Citing declining ratings, FX ended "The Riches" as the series ran over two seasons and had a -44% dip in ratings among A18-49 viewers during season two - compared to their first season - according to the trade magazine, Variety.
"The Riches" was an American Gothic mosh-up written and created by a Russian-Jewish immigrant, Dmitry Lipkin.
"The Riches" were a rural Southern family of con-artists who work and travelled with a larger clan of Irish descent; the "Travellers."
In an unforseen circumstance, Wayne (Izzard) decides he and Dahlia (Driver) assumed the identity of crime victims Doug and Cherien Rich. A better life for his family was presented, and Wayne, despite Dahlia's protests, took it.
It was that opportunistic "identity theft" that allowed Wayne and Dahlia to become "The Riches."
The Riches was produced by Fox Television Studios and FX Productions.
