Probably anticipated at least as much as the actual debate itself, the SNL Tina Fey parody of the vice presidential debate took center stage on SNL Saturday nght.
Fey made her weekly appearance as Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin on last night’s episode of Saturday Night Live.
SNL player Jason Sudeikis took the role of Democratic VP nominee Joe Biden and guest star Queen Latifah as debate moderator, journalist Gwen Ifill.
“We’re gonna ask ourselves what would a maverick do in this situation, and then ya’ know, we’ll do that,” Fey’s Palin responded when asked on how to deal with the financial crisis.
In full Palin winky-wink to the auience, Fey wanted to talk about patriotism and taxes: “We are not afraid to get mavericky in there.”
After poking fun at Palin's third-grade shout-out, Fey asked (flute in hand), “Are we not doing the talent portion?”
