VH1 Rock of Love production halted due to double fatality wreck

VH1 reality series "Rock of Love" production has been halted following a fatal accident involving a crew member who police say fell asleep while driving and killed two people and injuring others.

The show stars rocker Bret Michaels, who painstakingly decides which female contestant is his lady love for the season.Friday afternoon, two 19-year-olds were killed “when a driver … apparently fell asleep, his vehicle crossed a median and slammed into the students’ SUV,” The Chicago Tribune reports. Yasmin Jackson and Kevetta Davis died at the scene.51 Minds Entertainment crew member Dennis “Hernandez was cited for driving with a suspended license and other offenses,” as his car “crossed over into the northbound lanes of Interstate 57” and “struck a pickup truck—seriously injuring two Florida residents inside—and then smashed into Jackson’s sports-utility vehicle,” according to the Tribune.VH1’s blog says “Bret Michaels has requested that his participation in the production of the series be temporarily suspended in deepest sympathy as he attempts to reach out to the families of the victims,” and notes that “Michaels had left Illinois early Friday morning and was not near the scene of the accident.”In a statement, Bret said, “As a father of two, I cannot even imagine what the families must be going through at this time. I will make every attempt to reach out to them to let them know that my heart and prayers are with them during their time of grief.”The Chicago Tribune reports that Yasmin’s aunt “said neither Michaels nor anyone at VH1 had contacted the family.”Kevetta Davis, 19, a 2007 Walter Payton High School graduate, was a Southern Illinois University sophomore planning to become a pharmacist, her aunt said."It was like she was the light of the family," said the aunt, Jacqueline Robinson. "She was extremely smart and ... whenever she walked into a room, she just lit it up."Also killed in the Friday crash was Yasmin Jackson, 19, of Belleville, state police said. Jackson, a fellow SIU student, and Davis, known as "Cali," performed together on an SIU dance team, Robinson said.

Bret is Lying he was around and DID NOT BOTHER TO CONTACT MY FAMILY PERIOD and still have not, our local news room told us the information on him. Bret knew, however him and his crew passed on through and proceed to do a concert in another state and the driver was picked up that caused the accident. It HURT US SO MUCH…To hold up and keep everyone lifted up were a large family that loves and cares for one another. Yasmin was a caring, sweet, friendly and respectable, full of energy. This is tragic & unbelievable. God knows all & see all things. Exposed Bret, felt that no one would ever find out being that this happened in Illinois, so far away from Hollywood….I have watch his show a couple of times and cannot believe the connection of life ( trying to find love) and death of my little precious cousin. Some people are so cold and only think of themselves. She will be remember and MISSED, FOREVER….

hey hi u doin im a friend of the family and i miss her alot to my mom and yolanda jackson have been good friends since we were little and ive known yasmine for years so its really devastating
