Online television watching has doubled in percentages in one year, thanks in part to unique series like Joss Whedon's "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog", Rosario Dawson's "Gemini Division" and now McG's "Sorority Forever."
The new McG series will be shown only on TheWB.com and MySpaceTV for 24 Hours
MySpace and TheWB.com today announced a content partnership to bring the new original digital series “Sorority Forever” – created by director/producer McG (“Terminator Salvation,” “The O.C.,” “Charlie’s Angels,” “We Are Marshall”) and the producers of the hit Internet series “Prom Queen” – from TheWB.com (link) to MySpaceTV (link).
According to the press release:
“Sorority Forever” will be hosted on its own custom hub on MySpaceTV (link), with episodes of the series premiering at 9:00 a.m. PDT every day beginning on September 8, concurrent with its launch on TheWB.com, the Warner Bros. Television Group’s new ad-supported, premium, video-on-demand, and personalized network. Original episodes of “Sorority Forever” will appear exclusively on TheWB.com and MySpaceTV for 24 hours and then will become available through TheWB.com’s additional broadband distribution partners. Five new episodes per week (one new episode each weekday) will be available to view on MySpaceTV in addition to character profiles, and other interactive features.
“TheWB.com is a great fit for the MySpace audience, and we couldn’t be happier to be launching the original series ‘Sorority Forever’ on MySpaceTV at the same time it debuts on TheWB.com,” said Brent Poer, GM of TheWB.com.
“Packed with compelling characters, mysterious storytelling, hip fashion and cool music, ‘Sorority Forever’ is ready-made for the MySpaceTV audience, and we look forward to their users sharing the ‘Sorority Forever’ experience with their friends through the extensive interactive features found at the ‘Sorority Forever’ hub.”
“MySpaceTV is the perfect partner for ‘Sorority Forever’ because the combination of this top quality production and our custom, interactive ‘Sorority Forever’ hub fully showcases the content this demographic is watching with the technology they are using,” said Jason Kirk, VP of MySpaceTV.
“We’re also excited to offer the MySpace community episodes from the Warner Bros. television collection in a way that provides an entertaining and compelling experience for our users. Users will be able to ’subscribe‘ to the shows they love in order to get new available episodes delivered right to their MySpace pages.”
In “Sorority Forever,” director/producer McG presents an innovative mystery/drama which peeks behind the walls of the secret society of the sorority.
“Sorority Forever” is described as a "sexy and immersive experience that is simultaneously realistic and voyeuristic: Think 'Prom Queen' meets 'The O.C.,' but set in college."
“Sorority Forever” is the newest addition to a number of branded channels and content partners on MySpaceTV, including TMZ, BBC Worldwide, quarterlife, Sony (Minisode Network), National Geographic, The New York Times and lifestyle outlets including 60 Frames, Atomic Wedgie, FOX’s IGN Entertainment, JibJab, Kush TV, Next New Networks, Octane TV, Ripe TV, Sports Illustrated, VBS.TV (Vice Magazine) and Watch Mojo.

Will this series ever be on TV in full half-hour/hour episodes? That'd be great!
