"Dogtown" is ratings gold for National Geographic Channel.
The premiere that featured the rescued dogs of Michael Vick's Bad Newz Kennels was a ratings bonanza, and the premiere ranked seventh among all ad-supported cable networks with a demo target of P25-54.That's a really big coup for any cable network.
National Geographic Channel’s (Nat Geo, NGC) two-hour premiere of "DOGTOWN: Saving the Michael Vick Dogs" on Friday night, September 5, averaged a HH 1.05 AA5 and P25-54 0.65 AA%, up 144% among households and 160% among P25-54 compared to the 2008 Friday prime average.
It was the highest rated season two series premiere in network history and also NGC’s top Friday night premiere ever.
NGC placed seventh among all ad-supported cable networks for P25-54 in prime and from 9 to 11 p.m., outperforming Discovery, History, A&E, TLC, Animal Planet and MTV. Over two airings (9 p.m. and 12 midnight), DOGTOWN: Saving the Michael Vick Dogs reached a combined 3,303,000 households, 4,328,000 people (P2+) and 2,026,000 persons 25–54.
