Jerry Seinfeld's new ads for Microsoft are meant to sex up the giant PC software and operating systems conglomerate to compete against the growing hordes of Apple laptop users.

Seinfeld uses his unique brand of humor to attempt to draw out some personality from CEO Bill Gates, and make him appear "cool."
The tech community has had a mixed bag reaction to the ads, which feature typical Seinfeld humor butted against a dry, laconic Gates who plays the straight man.
The ad is meant to tease "greater things" expected from the software company.
A memo from Microsoft describes the debut ad as part of a package - an "icebreaker" meant to raise viewers' eyebrows and get their attention.
