J Lo will have her "Maid in Manhattan" film adapted for a sit-com on ABC television.
The film "Maid in Manhattan," in 2002 starred Ralph Fiennes and Jennifer Lopez. The romantic comedy premise featured Lopez as a maid at a luxe New York hotel who beguiles politician (Fiennes) when he mistakenly takes her for a socialite.
ABC is in negotiations with the film's producers, including Lopez, to adapt it for television. This is reportedly the second attempt at adapting "Maid in Manhattan" for smallscreen. Lopez is said to be deeply involved in developing the TV series with her producing partner, Simon Fields.
Chad Hodge is slated to write the pilot, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The producers will take the premise of the film as a start point for the TV series to flesh out the "maid's" interactions with hotel guests and her family.
