Max von Sydow joins Showtime’s ‘The Tudors’

Ortega / PR PhotosVariety reports Von Sydow is set to be seen in four of the third season episodes as the German-born clergyman who attempts to defeat Henry VIII (played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers). The announcement comes on the heels of British singer Joss Stone joining the show to play Henry VIII's fourth wife, Anne of Cleves.The series (which is a Canadian-Irish co-production) is filming in Dublin, and the third season should air next year on Showtime.
