This is just another poor attempt to capitalize on something that should be left alone. The Rocky Horror legacy came from a generation that was looking at how stupid the 'other' movies were. Then came a movie that made fun of those movies, and the kids took it to a totally unexpected level. Today's kids will never 'get it' and will see nothing that would make this movie the same cult classic as the original. To remake this movie would be a total bust and most likely will never truely be made.

As a devote Rocky Horror fan, I would like to make a recommendation to MTV and the suits that are making the calls on this project. Make a NEW movie of this style. For example, what ever happened to Brad and Janet? or Riff Raff and Magenta? Since time has passed, the Were Are They Now might be a better storyline and bring about a new Double Feature Picture Show. The midnight runnings could double up the original with the new.

Just a few thoughts.

Stoooopid IdeaJul 26th, 2008 - 13:10:26

You've got to be kidding! MTV can't be that stupid to think that re-making a 'cult-classic' (Cult being the key word)has any chance of making money. The Rocky Horror Picture Show was a terrible movie when it was made. It still is, if you try to watch it without the audience participation. You can thank the original people who decided to poke fun at it and turn it into what it really is.

Don't Ruin Rocky Horror Pictur ShowJul 26th, 2008 - 22:51:33

Why can't MTV and others leave good enough alone? Rocky Horror Picture Show is a classic. I like the other poster's idea of creating something of a spin off- a 'Where Are They Now' kind of thing instead.

This is the stupidest idea of the year cross that it officially the stupidest idea of the decade after all their only six months left! Off course if MTV play this right they might end up bringing the die hard fan into the fold just by keeping the old cast as much as possible. Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon and Meatloaf and most of the rest are still around. So they will just need to recast Dr. Everett Scott and The Criminologist parts both actor playing them having past away.
