More Comic-Con preview goodness from NBC.
The network has released the first trailer for "Gemini Division" with Rosario Dawson.
Like Lonelygirl15, "Gemini Division" is a female first-person confessional — in this case, a confessional about biotech run wild, with some freaky orange bathtub rings to boot...
Two years after the success of Lonelygirl15 — the serial that turned out to be the work of three filmmakers in Beverly Hills — Web video has taken off like a shot; witness Dr. Horrible with Neil Patrick Harris; Eisner's Prom Queen, a daily 90-second teen drama; Judd Apatow and Will Ferrell's Funny or Die, which hosts web comedy shorts, and producers Ed Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz's "Quarterlife", a Web show which died on TV.
"Gemini Division" is the first of eight Web serials director Stan Rogow has at Electric Farm Entertainment, the production company formed with writer Brent Friedman and Jeff Sagansky, a former co-president of Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Dawson was interviewed by Wired magazine and talked about the project: "They're putting up their own stuff — really off the cuff, no money involved. So we're taking a huge risk. But it's exciting to be part of something new. Even if we mess it up, we were the first, you know? That's kind of awesome in itself." WIRED-PIECE
NBC will be distributing a Gemini Division DVD with the trailer and additional behind-the-scenes video, plus a poster at the Con.
