“Randy Jackson Presents: America’s Best Dance Crew” welcomes six-time Grammy Award winner Missy Elliott who will premiere the performance of “Shake Your Pom Pom” from her seventh studio album, "Block Party" – on Thursday, July 31 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.

“America’s Best Dance Crew” is hosted by Mario Lopez and shot on location in Los Angeles as dance crews of five to seven members perform their hottest moves for dance supremacy and a $100,000 cash prize.
For her performance, Elliott will be accompanied by the remaining top four dance crews who will work together to show off their freshest moves.
For this episode, each crew will dance to a Missy Elliott song and emulate a challenging piece of choreography from the video. The crews will be judged not only on the quality of their routine but also by how well they use the specific pieces of the music video.
Elliott and her longtime collaborator, choreographer Hi Hat, will watch from the audience as the crews perform to her hits. She will also mentor the crews to fine-tune their routines.
The show features JC Chasez (N*Sync), hip hop recording artist Lil Mama and choreographer Shane Sparks (“You Got Served”) – and the voting viewers at home.
“America’s Best Dance Crew” is a ratings smasher for MTV - the #1 slotted network in its time period (Thursday 10:00 – 11:30pm) among P12-34 across all of television, even besting broadcast.
“America’s Best Dance Crew” at link ranks as the top show area on MTV.com since the season premiered. More than 2.5 million visits have been made to the show area plus over 10 million page views.

I think having Missy is a pretty good way to promote dancing and get better ratings. She has shown some great dancing skills, just check her 'the rain (Supa Dupa Fly) Video. I'd like to see more street dancers that have made t big with their dancing skills. Kind of like David Elsewhere who has made all kinds of commercials (motorola.com/e8 sick moves!) and other dancing videos. This way both promotion of the show and street dancing can be achieved in a positive way.
