Jeff Bridges, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Robert Duvall have signed on to star in the music-based drama "Crazy Heart" for CMT Films and Informant Media.
Scott Cooper wrote the screenplay and will direct the film, according to Variety.
The movie is based on the Thomas Cobb novel, about an on the outs alcoholic country music singer (Bridges) who cobbles his life back with the help of Maggie Gyllenhaal's character.
T Bone Burnett will score the film with original music for the soundtrack. Variety notes that Duvall and Robert Carliner are producing via their Butchers Run Films banner.
The toasty location for the production is Santa Fe, N.M. in August.
Bridges reportedly will perform original songs in "Crazy Heart" per Variety.
