FX's "Rescue Me" is in countdown to the long awaited fifth season.
EW's Michael Ausiello reports that Michael J. Fox is nearing a deal to join the cast of "Rescue Me" for "a multi-episode arc."
Fox is set to portray a romantic interest for Tommy Gavin's (Denis Leary) ex, Janet (Andrea Roth).
An FX spokesperson confirms to Ausiello that Fox is being considered, but claimed no deal was set yet.
Ausiello notes that Denis Leary and Michael J. Fox are very good friends, and he speculates the "deal" will be sealed soon.
Denis Leary and writer/producer Peter Tolan recently spoke to Monsters and Critics about the upcoming season, and their minisodes on the FX network and website for "Rescue Me." LINK
