Comic-Con is nearly upon us. The trade show was initially a comic book convention and has now morphed into the studios and networks' major marketing tool - their hoopla has practically taken over the fan based event.

Twentieth Century Fox Television will dramatically expand its presence at Comic-Con, TV Week's Joe Adalian reports that nine shows will hit the July fan festival in San Diego.
The San Diego Convention Center will be home to the displays by Fox, and Adalian reports that they will slot into the Fox Atomic spot.
Comic-Con stalwarts Warner Bros. Television will have a reported seven shows and a Warner Bros. corporate booth representing.
Fox, however, has stuffed the SRO Q&A panels with their roster of TV celebrities - including Joss Whedon’s “Dollhouse,” “Prison Break” and “Bones.” Also appearing for Fox will be cast from “24,” “Life on Mars,” writers and producers for “Family Guy,” “The Simpsons,” “American Dad” and “Futurama.”
Adalian cites the dismal performance "Journeyman" had on the NBC network, a show that was never promoted at the Con last summer.
Typical of Comic-Con's set up, the cast members and writers from most of the shows will sign autographs in the hall.
Adalian noted the confirmed Fox attendees:
Kiefer Sutherland and Carlos Bernard for “24.”
Seth MacFarlane, Seth Green and Alec Sulkin for “Family Guy” and “American Dad.”
Eliza Dushku for “Dollhouse,” Joss Whedon.
“Bones” cast, including stars Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz.
“The Simpsons” and “Futurama,” look for Matt Groening, Al Jean, David X. Cohen, Katey Sagal and Billy West.
Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell and Sarah Wayne Callies will bang the drum for “Prison Break.”
Sadly, I got word today that executive producer and co head writer Joseph Mallozzi will not be at the Con for Sci Fi's "Stargate Atlantis."
