It's good. Liked watching it.
What's wrong with it? NOTHING!! People need to get over their phobias. The world is a diverse place. Live and let live as the old saying goes..SHEESH!!!!!!!
THIS is the state of the world today, when people's lifestyles cannot be portrayed because some people don't approve of it. Maybe I don't approve of upper class families being shown in commercials because we are a working class family and I am offended by companies using the stereotype that all families that use their product are upper class. Is this really what the world is coming to?
What's the big deal? Funny ad. I might have even tried Heinz mayo had I seen the ad on TV.
God it's amazing how some people can be so ignorant. It's a shame that Heinz stopped running this ad... There is nothing wrong or offensive with it by any means. Can't everyone just love and accept people for who they are? I mean seriously, for all the homophobes: what is so bad about a gay or lesbian person? If you are basing your opinion on the bible, don't even respond. The bible is the biggest B/S ever created.
Umm.. yeah. Jesus loves you.
[and me, even though I am gay] ;]
I'm not really sure this is a good ad. The emphasis is very much on the relationships and not on the product. And I felt like I was hit on the head with their relationship to the point where I forgot all about the mayo. So I don't think it was money well spent if the intent of the ad was to sell mayo.
Heinz should realize that for the 200 complaints that the network received, there were probably 2000 people who were happy to see an ad that appeals to a group who has been so left out from the norm.
I don't find it offensive at all. And I don't see why it has to be such a big deal explaining same se relationships to children. My partner's 7 year old grandson knows about same sex relationships and he knows that his mummy and daddy are going to be fine if he grows up to be homosexual. And I think that is a GOOD thing for children who find that they have gay feelings to know that they are not 'wrong' in any way, just gay.
shouldn't be such a big deal -we should get used to it
Wow! People are so gay focused today that the schtick behind that commercial went right over your heads! It has nothing to do with homosexuality and it's not meant to represent a homosexual couple.
The ad is for New-York-deli-style mayo. The 'mum' is the type of guy you'd see behind the counter in a New York deli (in fact he looks like DeNiro), right down to the apron and paper hat. The point of the ad is that using this mayo will make your sandwiches taste like they came from a New York deli.
People need to lighten up and accept reality. The commercial was sarcastic and humorous. Yes, it depicted a man called 'mum' and his partner called 'sweet cheeks.' Welcome to the new world where gays and lesbians are all around us living as normal families.
Heinz, along with every other business, need to accept the fact that you cannot please everyone. No apology should have been made and the commercial should have remained on-air. Only persistence will win this battle; celebrities businesses need to move forward with mainstream society because the antiquated 'traditional family' is gone and the conservatives haven't realized that yet.
I'm sure that a few people may switch to another mayo or ketchup brand, but most people who were offended will move on and keep buying Heinz.
no one makes an ad like this without trying to push these buttons. is it really about free expression, or sensationalist marketing: make the ad itself the subject of debate, thus marketing the product. since this isn't political and the goal is to sell something, isn't this just propagating 'gay culture' for base means? The subject matter doesn't offend me, but I am growing more offended by this sort of manipulation of society for commercial purposes. The goal here: sell mayonnaise. the means: by making a controversial commerical to get people talking about it. isn't there something wrong in that, since I cannot manage Heinz has some big homosexual agenda? I think everyone should be slightly offended by that.
OK so... This is a Commercial in UK where frontal nudity is allowed...and after hours, suggestive language and depiction of sexual activities...
ummm..... What?
Not a big deal at all...though the 'cook' outfit was a bit odd. In the real world, there are male partnerships and female partnerships and they may have children. Those children go to school with our children, so why not be open about things and explain life to your kids? Help them understand and be accepting!
it is a big deal i for one do not think we need to see gay men or women in commericals for any product and surely shoud never be shown when children can see
Don't see the add, but anyway I think it's sick! I don't care how you slice it up, two men or women kissing is against the laws of nature.
This crap is no ways right! I know I'll get a bunch of you guys blasting back with more of you crap, but do you see any gay things in nature?
Gay Lions, Dogs, fish, birds, ...........
This will be the down fall of humanity, for real.
Sick, Sick, Sick.
And I don't have to see the add to know.
I will predict that less than 20 years from now, if you speak against any gay stuff you may be in serious trouble! it all most like they are trying to shoved it down your guts!
I don't hate anyone, but I don't need anyone life style shoved down my guts, gay or straight!
I think it's wrong and should have the right to say so.
OMG, not a big deal!
But to avoid the back lash from the nay sayers, they should have had him give a peck on the cheek vs very close to the mouth.
IMO, I thought it was funny.
ok, so the deli man was taken the place of the mother. This is complete humor. I did not see anything GAY about this add. Heinz could have shown a woman speaking with a New York Deli man voice, but it would not have been as humorous. When did our world get so picky about everything. If you don't like it change the channel. Better yet grab a book or go outside. What are you doing watching TV anyway? There is a world outside of the box!
I think the ad is adorable. This fuss is all about the minority of people who are still trying to force us to act, think and believe as they do since they know in their hearts (since they have no brains) that they are the sole custodians of truth and morality.
Why should we have to have this type of thing in our face? It is entirely unnatural, and sickening to me. Marriage has always been between man and woman. What is the next crazy idea?
