Variety reports that showrunner Daniel Cerone and "Dirty Sexy Money" didn't work out, but ABC Studios still will keep him involved in other smallscreen projects.
Cerone was once a showrunner on Showtime's "Dexter."
"Right now I'll be focusing my attention on development," Cerone told Variety. "I'm looking forward to the opportunity to create new shows for the studio and network."
“Dirty Sexy Money” has an all-star cast led by “Six Feet Under’s” Peter Krause.
Nick (Krause) is an ethical attorney whose father has spent most of his life looking after the wealthy Darling family.
After Nick’s dad dies, Darling patriarch Tripp (Donald Sutherland) recruits Nick to fill his dad's position.
Variety notes that the struggling series had Josh Reims as showrunner before Cerone.
"Dirty Sexy Money" will shut down for more retooling with a possible restart at the end of July with new showrunner, Jon Harmon Feldman.
