The X Factor is Britain's talent show "ground zero", similar to cross Atlantic spin-off series, "America's Got Talent and "American Idol," in that complete unknowns are given a shot at fame.
Series stalwart judge Sharon Osbourne has abruptly quit The X Factor.
The scuttle is that her departure is reportedly over a disagreement about money. Sharon, from my UK snitches, allegedly wanted a million dollar pay increase.
ITV has released the following terse statement:
"Sharon Osbourne has decided to leave The X Factor after four fantastic years. ITV thanks her for her immense contribution to the show and for all her humour, compassion and energy."
