'American Idol' warm up: Cook's brother to attend tonight

Tonight on American Idol, the two contestants will face off and present their very best to the American viewers who have watched the contest go from hundreds of thousands all hoping for a chance, to a select few who had the goods to make it through many vocal tests and trials.

The two finalists are both named David, but that's where the similarity ends.

One is a fierce risk taker, a rocker who can growl and hold a melody; the other is a child prodigy who won Star Search at the tender age of 12.

“Extra” has learned that David Cook’s brother, Adam, will be in the American Idol audience to watch the final two shows. 

According to their sources, Adam flew to California yesterday morning accompanied by a medic nurse.

Due to Adam’s battle with cancer, it was unexpected and unlikely that he would be attending the American Idol finale.
