Derek And Shannon talk about last night's DWTS

He said, “We were just hoping for one more week.” Although the couple won’t be dancing in the finals, Derek tells “Extra” that the two will “absolutely” remain friends.A couple who WILL be returning to the dance floor is Cristián de la Fuente and Cheryl Burke. De la Fuente’s fate was uncertain, but it was announced last night that despite his injury, he will remain in the competition. Burke admitted, “I was in tears all day not knowing what's happening. He called me saying in the morning he could do it and then the doctor said, ‘No, you can't.’ It kept changing.”De la Fuente tells “Extra” that he’s not concerned he’ll have to delay his surgery saying, “The doctor said it was okay. The longest this show can go if we make it all the way through is three weeks.” As for how he can prevent further injuries, Burke explained, “I have to be careful when I choreograph. And I have to be careful not to put pressure on his arm when we’re in hold.”When asked if judge Carrie Ann Inaba expects a sympathy vote for De la Fuente, she responded, “Maybe they [viewers] might give him another shot, which would be nice because he hurt himself…but I don't think the sympathy just continues on.”For more Dancing with the Stars news, log onto here.
