04/24/2008 - Derek Hough - © PRN / PR Photos“The show’s been amazing,” Shannon said after she and her partner were axed. “I’ve learned a lot and I’ve made a friend for life and hopefully a bunch of friends for life.”Derek had praise for his partner. “She’s been great, definitely kept me entertained throughout the whole competition,” he said.Recovering Cristian de la Fuente stayed in the competition despite the performance that was marred by his injured tendon.“Well, when we started dancing the samba, right at the beginning, when she fell back, I had an injury on my tendon and I ruptured the tendon of my bicep. So, then I tried to keep going and it was a lot of choreography to keep going and I couldn’t,” Cristian told “Dancing” co-host Tom Bergeron of how it happened. “Then I started looking at my arm, and I was like, ‘Oh my god! I’m in pain,’ and then ‘Oh I have to go back to dancing.’”De la Fuente wll need surgery to repair his torn muscle.“I just talked to the doctor five minutes ago and he said he can delay the surgery and if people voted for us and they would like for us to be on the show then I would like to not give up,” he said.
