Mariah fumes onstage during GMA live show

GMA was the scene for the massive disaster that was Mariah Carey’s performance.
Mimi performed (lip-synched) her latest hit song "Touch My Body" with some back-up singers - and the Diva let everybody know she was not happy.
Similar to when Ashlee Simpson fumbled the ball on Saturday Night Live, the right Mariah vocal got played, but at the wrong time.
Several times.
Mariah is heard singing (around the 3:00 minute mark) “Stop singing my part now, baby.”
Despite her performance snafus, Carey was also seen on top of the Empire State Building that shined pink and lavender lights in honor of her new LP. She admits, “I’ve been growing up in New York my whole life and I’ve never been up here…It took this to get me here!”
Carey tells Extra that she truly appreciates New York City’s landmark honor saying, “It’s very overwhelming. It’s really exciting. I feel very blessed. Very thankful to God for everything.”
Not only is Carey on top of the charts, but her amazingly fit body has been the talk of the town as well. Revealing her secret, she exclaims, “I’ve been dieting…Patricia, my trainer, is very, very strong!”
And as for her film, "Tennessee," which is premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival, she says, “He [Aaron Woodley, director] wants people to see it and assess it for themselves.”

She sang live over a back track
There's no way she should be compared to Ashley Simpson
The part in question is about 2 1/2 minutes from the start of Touch My Body which 1 of her back up singers( and this isn't the 1st time this happened) sang a part that was supposed to be hers she proceeded to say Stop singing my part now baby pointing at her backup singers.
Mariah needs to be celebrated for being one of the most prolific singer/songwriters of our time.
Love her or hate her you must respect her game.

Y'know, if there's one thing I cannot STAND, it's those without a clue talking smack like they're dropping knowledge.
Such folk are easily identifiable; they call people out with a litany of insults, but fail either fail to back em up with facts, or snowball ONE iota of fact in nonsensical gossip & what??? Yep, #itchassness (I'm mindful of firewalls so y'all will have to fill in the blanx).
1. Only an idiot would think Mariah Carey was lipsynching on GMA; an atom of a braincell would be able to detect that the deeper tone to her lower register is only this obvious when she's singing live in the morning. Her smoother, silkier tones only come out later in the day, once she's warmed up her chords. Einstein not required.
2. To the silly twit KB above; sweetheart, if you're gonna cite examples, at least pick ones that fit...The occasion to which you refer, circa '99/2000 had nothing, come again, nothing to do with 'body obsession', and everything to do with the following...pay attention now, so next time you can pretend you actually know what you're talking about...:
a) a 'genuine' DIVA moment - much more rare than the general public is actually aware, which is why they're so great when they happen - because
b) she'd received dedicated abuse in the press for almost 2 weeks straight and so decided, as she explained (to Regis & Kelly, I do believe), that if she was going to be slated for what she was wearing, why bother to get dressed for the occasion at all? So yes, she turned up and had her interview in her nightie & matching robe.
Actually, those evolved enough to recognise the light-hearted moment for it was found the whole thing pretty funny; very tongue-in-cheek, a la MC. If you considered the woman without blinkers for 5mins, you'd be surprised to learn how naturally cool & down down-to-earth she is. Alot moreso than most of the 'regularities' you meet on a daily basis.

She's always been extremely obcessed with her body - showing as much as possible - she even showed up on Regis at one time in a white bathrobe!
