Jimmy Fallon EPA/GEORGE FREYMonths of heresay and rumors proved to be true: SNL alum Jimmy Fallon will attempt to fill the shoes of reigning "Late Night" host Conan O'Brien on NBC in 2009, sources said.The Hollywood Reporter claims O'Brien is moving into the 11:35 p.m. slot next year after "Tonight Show" host Jay Leno's retirement.NBC will make a formal announcement May 12 during its New York upfront.Fallon's takeover is expected in January.What is not known is where "Late Night" will move its producion location.THR says NBC declined any comment.Fallon has co-hosted SNL's "Weekend Update" segment. He also starred in several features like "Fever Pitch."
