Britney's back, b!tches. She's back in with the smallscreen hit, "How I Met Your Mother," despite Neil Patrick Harris' comments to the AP on April 10.
A source tells People that HIMYM producers have signed her on for another try.
“The show is ecstatic and so is Britney,” a People source said. “She had so much fun the first time around she really wanted to come back. It was a mutual decision to work together more.”
Fox has yet to confirm this news officially.
Spears, 26, appeared in March playing a receptionist at a dermatologist’s office who had the hots for one of the show’s main characters, played by Josh Radnor.
Spears reveived warm notices and unusually positive feeback, considering what she had been fielding for the last two plus years by way of any of her creative efforts.
“She was hilarious in the table-read, and I got to see her do the run-through as well, and she was great,” cast member Jason Segel said.
Harris had other ideas, and spoke candidly to the Associated Press: "I'm in the minority that our show does not need stunt casting in order to succeed," Harris said.
"I worry that if they start `Will and Grace'-ing us too much, that the show will suffer. And we're all really proud of the content of the show. I mean, viewership is not our game. It's the network and the studio's game, you know. It's the promotion department's game," the actor told The Associated Press in an interview last week.
"We wish we weren't opposite an awkward reality dancing competition," he said. "But we have no say about that. I just am a real fan of our content. I think we have a great show going, and I hope it's not screwed up by the desire for 700,000 more viewers."
