Bill Maher's Pope apology - Video plus New Rules

I watch Bill every chance I get. I don't always agree with everything he says, but we all have our own opinion.That's the beauty of free speech. I think the Catholics are whining too much. Please!!!! You'd think they were the only ones in the world to be insulted? And I happen to agree with him on the way they handled their child molesting mess. I haven't seen where they did anything to correct the problem, shouldn't they have done more to get these monsters convicted? Or try to help the ones who suffered instead of protecting the almighty bad guys? We should all be upset that nothing was really done for the victims. And to fire Bill because he told the truth? He wouldn't have a leg to stand on if they had done the right thing in the first place, instead of hiding and trying to make excuses. Bill just said what nobody else has the nerve to say. If the truth hurts, better to fix what's wrong, rather then blame the guy who calls you on it.

Summer - the beauty of free speech would be giving me a TV show and a microphone and letting me spout off about the things in this country that piss me off - that would be free speech!

I am Catholic but I only attend the big house on holidays, I drink, smoke, etc. Call me a hypocrite if you wish. I also don't think anyone should be bashed for being involved with any religion. hey, if religion helps you from shooting or stabbing me, pray away my friend. But Maher has overstepped his bounds this time. After 911 he called those islamic terrorists 'Courageous' individuals. he didn't slam or condemn them for 'following' the orders of allah, did he? No - he blamed the USA, the very country that provides him and his idiotic followers for bringing it on themselves. Yeah, it was all our fault that those idiots flew an airliner into the twin towers. After that is when he should have been fired and never again given a microphone.

As for what happened with those pedophile preists - Yes, the previous pope should have been more strict and faster with dealing with those morons. But that still wouldn't have prevented a certain person from condemning millions and millions of innocent people, now would it???

Summer! If you paid attention to previous posts as said...we don't need Bill Maher telling the truth..what truth? This is all about his hatred for the church and his ratings. This has nothing to do with him protecting child abuse victims. He can careless. Hes a pig. It;s like tell us something we don't know. Bill Maher is not the poster child here. Hes not a good person and Summer can you tell me one nice charity thing he does??? Besides PETA? Nothing. He's worthless to the human species.

It doesn't take guts to slam religion in this country but it takes guts to stand up for the brainwashing secularism country we have become. Its not easy being a moral person but anyone can be Bill Maher. He has sex with porn stars. A true hard life!!!!!

Hey, doesn't anyone remember Maher's early stand up routines when he claimed he was the product of Jewish and Catholic parents. I think he made an off-hand joke about getting the best of both worlds as far as guilt complexes went. Maybe this schmuck-a-lovich also is also a self-hating turd, who feels a need to lash out at an external institutions to make up for his own personal failings.

Bill is just speaking the truth, if Catholics are offended by the truth that's tough. It's denying the truth that has made their church a haven for predatory pedophiles for so long. I thought religion was supposed to value truth! As for the imbecile's who point out that Hitler and Stalin were atheists, why do you think this explains their behaviour? Its probably more significant that Stalin went to a Catholic seminary school and was training to be a preist before he embarked on mass murder. Hitler was raised a catholic, and the catholic church in the 30s and 40s colluded with Nazi regime probably because they were self serving and shared the same anti-semitism. Hitler had a very cosy relationship with the Church. The Catholic Church has more blood on its hands than either of these dictators. Like most religious institutuions it has been corrupted by money, greed, power politics, and the exploitation of the weak/gullible.
