Jimmy Kimmel Live taped its 1000th show, and Extra hitched a ride with him as they joined the man of the hour in the limo ride to celebrate this milestone.
Kimmel discussed the show’s rocky start, his dream guest list and when he’ll be working with Ben Affleck again.
Kimmel admits to being ecstatic about the success of his show, but he says the beginning wasn’t easy explaining, “You had not just me, but a whole staff learning how to do a talk show.
And nobody wanted to do the show. It was like every night - Adam Carolla, Ben Stein, Sarah Silverman…Adam Carolla, Ben Stein…Believe me, I love having them on but it became like The Carol Burnett Show and they were regulars.”
As for the celebrities Kimmel wants to interview, Kimmel reveals, “I would love to have [David] Letterman on the show. I would love to have Madonna on the show.” He continues, joking, “I lost my virginity to one of her videos. I was alone. It was me and the video.”
When Penacoli shows Kimmel the ad in Variety which features girlfriend Sarah Silverman hugging her one-time co-star Matt Damon, he responds, “This is an outrage. This is despicable. I got them fair and square with the Ben Affleck video and then they go and do this. And now we have to do something else. We will have to respond to this and retaliate.”
Kimmel admits to watching good friend Adam Carolla on Dancing with the Stars but don’t expect Kimmel to quit his own day job. “No, I will never do it [DWTS]. I’m a terrible dancer,” he declares. As for Carolla’s performance, Kimmel “thinks he’s doing surprisingly well, especially for somebody who barely practices and talks the whole time.”

I saw a little bit of this show one night - where's the talent? Craig Ferguson can beat him any night!
