Backstage: 'Dancing with the Stars' ladies night

03/14/2008 - Priscilla Presley - 62 ..© GL / PR PhotosActress Shannon Elizabeth admitted to being nervous saying, “It was nerve-wracking…I thought I’d be able to get out there and do it like we’ve been doing it in rehearsal back in the studio.

Whatever I learned in the studio, just bring here but it kind of all goes astray when all this stuff is going on around you.”Visibly upset by her poor scores, tennis champion Monica Seles sadly stated, “I just thought I did decently. At least sixes but it’s hard. It’s going to make us work harder and hopefully I will be more presentable.” Despite low marks, Judge Carrie Ann believes that Seles is “what the show represents. It’s people that don’t dance at all, coming to the floor and trying something new, so I would hate to see her lose her spirit.”As to whether or not Seles has lost weight from her vigorous rehearsals, she revealed, “I actually gained weight because of all the stress.” But her competitor Marlee Matlin says, “Since November, I’ve lost 15 pounds..He [partner, Fabian Sanchez] works me hard.”As the most “mature” contestant, Priscilla Presley at 62 tells “Extra” how she stays young at heart. “You really have to keep your spirit at play. I think that’s what causes someone to get old. They lost their spirit to play. You have to be able to get out there, have fun, take chances and not get caught up in the age.” Judge Carrie Ann agrees that Presley is one dancer to watch saying, “She’s got this grace that’s ridiculous. And she’s so seductive.”Although Olympic figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi is used to the limelight, she asked, “Who doesn’t have butterflies whenever they go on TV and try to perform?
