Naked man-on-man lapdancing, profane Christmas greetings, full-frontal nude photos, exposed professional singing careers, MySpace and other social networking snaps coming back to haunt the current crop of American Idol hopefuls have made this season the most scandal-laced one ever.
It wouldn’t be American Idol without the controversies and reporter (and Cowell main squeeze) Terri Seymour of Extra caught up with the Idol hopefuls to get the inside dish.
Despite having racy photos from his stripping days publicly revealed, David Hernandez plans to triumph past the scandal.
He puts a good spin on it to “Extra” saying, “Adversity is my best friend. Keeps me wanting to go out there and do better each time.”
Another Idol in the middle of a photo scandal is fan favorite, Ramiele Malubay, who had personal photos of her boob grabbing her female friends splashed all over the Internet.
One of her competitors, Australian hottie Michael Johns, doesn’t understand the hype. He exclaims, “She is the cutest little thing and those pictures are a couple of things with friends hugging her. There wasn’t anything lude. I support her. I love her. She is great. She calls me Mr. Wiggle because she was surprised I owned a Wiggles record.”
Johns tells “Extra” not to expect the media to uncover any skeletons in his closet saying, “I really haven’t had a DUI. I haven’t been arrested for anything.”
Recent castoff Danny Noriega feels that his Internet rant cost him the chance of becoming the next American Idol. He admits that the MySpace outrage harmed him “a little bit…I’m not really thinking about that but it can possibly be that.”
He continues, “It was something I did when I was another person ago.” Although Noriega was sent home last week on Idol, he still plans to pursue a job in entertainment saying, “I want to do something on TV…Host something. Do a sitcom…” Noriega’s friend and co-castoff, Kady Malloy, also revealed her desire to stay in show business. She too admitted, “I want to pursue acting.”
