'American Idol' Elimination: Now there are 16 left

Now the action heats up as eight men and eight women are left after tonight's bloodletting.

Ryan Seacrest (who is going nationwide in his syndicated radio show) announced the four who have to say goodbye.

Men first, as the boys were winnowed, and Jason Yeager was the first of the four to be eliminated from the American Idol.

The the ladies, as the young singer Alexandrea Lushington was next to go. She also woofed it yesterday blowing all her low notes..

Next to be voted off American Idol was Alaina Whitaker.

The OCD girl can't sing, now she can get some help with her green bean and "juice" issues.

Lastly the fourth Idol contender eliminated tonight was Robbie Carrico. His wig controversy may have killed it for him.

Observation: Good lord that Overmyer chick's voice is rough in the opening group song.

That little David Archuleta is going to win this competition, bet you the farm on that!
