American Idol’s chief judge Simon Cowell shared his opinion with Extra on his fellow judges, he also offers advice to Senator Hillary Clinton.
Not to leave any stone unturned, he also explains to Extra why he’s over Britney Spears.
When his main girl, Extra reporter, Terri Seymour asked Cowell which finalist will be named the next American Idol, he responded, “Seventeen-year-old kid, David [Archuleta].
He’s cute. He’s likeable. [Has] a big voice. He’s the one to beat.” As for the losers, Cowell believes Chikezie doesn’t stand a chance saying, “He’s never going to win unless the other 18 resign.”
Cowell admits that there is more tension this season between him and Randy and Paula, saying, “They’ve become very close this season. There’s a lot of whispering going on.”
When asked what he loves about the dynamic duo, Cowell responds after a long pause, “Give me a bit more time…I’ll come back to you on that one.”
Weighing in on the Presidential race, Cowell equates it to his hit show saying, “Love it…It’s a bit like watching American Idol.
You cry. You get the votes. It’s a popularity competition. It’s about charisma. I think it’s fascinating.”
Cowell admits that Senator Barack Obama is his favorite candidate saying, “I think he’s terrific. He’s like a pop star. Anyone who can draw 25,000 people to hear a speech about politics is a star. The guy’s a star.”
As for Obama’s opponent, Senator Hillary Clinton, Cowell admits he believes she’s having a rough time. “I think she’s struggling with the likeability. I genuinely think she should cry more. That’s what happened before. She cried, she won.”
Even Cowell has his limits and reveals that if Britney Spears asked for his help to re-launch her career, he would decline saying, “I couldn’t be bothered to be honest…It’s time for somebody new. It’s just too complicated.”
In regard to the rumors that he is leaving the show, Cowell says, “I’m not ready to walk and I’m not walking. I have a contract [to do] two more seasons.”
